In other words the pretty much zero value Smoak has is even lower now. There's no reason to cut him even if he starts to hit .200 the rest of the season. I honestly believe we see .245 BA 28 HR and about 80 RBI. My prediction

That was my original point, but then I read this morning the PTBNL going to the Mets is actually the better player and one from the class of 2013. So now I am thinking we missed out on a golden opportunity to pick something up that could have been a better prospect than Smoak...which isn't hard.

He kind of has to. If Smoak finishes the season hot he at least has something to say when he is on his knees begging to keep his job.
