He is already washed up. He will allow 1-2 homeruns per 9 innings. Even his career in the minors was poor at best. Automatic losses will be added in the tanking process so we can get another top draft choice next year.

This is a complete cluster screw-job of colossal proportions. Frikin' braindead can ween himself away from dumpster diving and ever since he let Sizemore go, you just knew the sonofabitch could help but going back to the dumpster. Freakin' Damn Idiot!!

so.. you guys complain when they bring up and use gonzalez.. but then you complain when they just sign some scrub to temp fill in. i'd be interested in hearing who exactly is supposed to get that precious 5 slot on one of the worst teams in baseball.

hey don't get your nose bent out of joint just because your boy, severino, didn't work out. There are other young candidates at AAA & AA that could/should get a shot at the big league level, instead of bringing over some over-the-hill dude. Afterall, this is about entertainment. Fans, whether they go live or watch on TV, don't want to watch some washed up has-been or some mini-Shawn Bradley (Severino- 6'2" & 160 lbs) guy throw 83 pitches in 2+ innings.

severino is just 22 years old. while he did get blown up in his last start and his first, the 3 in-between weren't all that horrible. his 18 strikeouts/4 walks in 19.2 innings was a decent sign. kids just don't come up and immediately dominate. i can never comprehend how this is expected. i swear i caught some franco complaining here the other week? insane.

who are the other candidates? do you want to see aumont, who will most likely walk at least 1 batter per inning? nola? why waste any of his time for a losing effort? eflin? he's not ready yet. biddle? he drifted away a while ago.

they called up a younger player who was close, but is never going to be a "star" no matter what. he's still not ready. there isn't another like him. so that leaves old rejects to fill in for now.

franco was called up, is starting every day and is playing extremely well. crawford is a maniac, was promoted and has all the tools to be a superstar. nola is dominating and looks like he could be even better than his original ceiling.

yet, so much complaining all around because the phils are losing. as if this wasn't expected. you know, what the fuck? you either want the rebuild or you don't? why would anyone be hoping for an extra 10-15 wins just to lose draft position for next year? that's just stupid.

only 2 things matter right now. the development of young players/prospects at the MLB level and minors.. and ditching guys like hamels, papelbon, harang, etc.. as soon as possible for new pieces. no one, absolutely no one should give a shit about the product they are putting on the field right this second and whether they can win some meaningless games.

Of course I want the rebuild and of course I don't care at all about wins and loses, unlike many on this board. In my opinion, severino was not ready to be up with the phillies and he may never be ready...for starters, he needs to put on some weight.
