It must be a slow day on the SportsHoopla. On the opening page where they have the top 10 hottest threads number 9 is the "Phillies at Mets series" thread.

Out of the last three players Huwaryu, I'd waive in August, Lee, Burnett, and Howard and keep Papelbon. If the Phillies would lower their demands just a tad (which Boobens doesn't have the sense to do) we could move Hamels and possibly get some players to build with in return. But that is a big if on both counts.

Why wouldn't you waive Papelbon? Just to piss him off because you know he wants to leave?

I'm figuring you guys will win tonight. The Mets are trying for a five-game home win streak as well as a five game streak over the Phils, and we just simply do not do five-game win streaks these days. Plus, Gee is still coming back into form after being on the DL.

Hamels has lousy career numbers against the mets, but he's been tearing it up lately.

Murphy eats up Hamels; Rollins and Howard eat up Gee. I can see this becoming a 10-9 game.

Something like that. Instead of using the big bucks wisely to build a contender over time, Boobens has to have a vet-type guy to give gobs of money. If he dumps Lee, Howard, and Burnett, Papelbon becomes the guy that fills that void. An overpaid reliever is what Boobens thinks is rebuilding. I thought Westcoast knew that but apparently not.

Jimmy Rollins nails one out of the park and the Phillies are on the board first. Perhaps this is a win night as opposed to an ass-whoopin night like last night.

The Mets exchanged those awful camo jerseys for these bright orange ones. I don't know which is worse.

4-6-3 double play. Those three guys make that a thing of beauty.

Damn Hamels. Serves a double to Wright. Now he gets Campbell to strike. 5 Ks and 5 hits.

Sizemore sends one deep and that is his first as a Phillie. We are up by two.

Nice sac bunt by Hamels to move Asche to second. A wish Revere would get on track tonight.

Nice base hit by Revere and Asche ran well returning to second when Flores couldn't quite secure that ground ball.
