The Dildoes die hard. The Phillies have been doing alot of this lately. One guy gets hot and everyone else tanks. Today we had Schwarber finds his bat assisted by Harper but everyone else started to fall asleep especially late in the game. This is where the Phillies rely on being Dildoes instead of continuing to fight like the Mutts always do. That is why the Mutts lead the NL East and we sit in the middle. The Marlins are playing alot like the Mutts. So just expect it until these guys get it through their overpaid skulls ya can't take innings off.
It just seems very odd what's going on but when you're not winning it's either the pitching (that's it) or the hitting (can these guys play together). Maybe we're trying to build a team with a bunch of job shoppers. That seems to work for some teams like the Yanks and Bosox. Phils suck at it. Some guys have been with 4 teams in the last 4 years - Schwarber and Castellanos - they're leading in certain stats but when the wake up do they know what town they're in? Most of the hitters are still pretty good but their best years are behind them. And .200 Hoskins has really been stinking up the place. They seem to be playing with enthusiasm. However,
it's actually the pitching, as retro has pointed out, that's forcing me to focus on the hitting. The Phils are hitting .244; Dodgers BA is only .237. But Dodgers ERA is 2.33. Phils ERA is 4.10. That explains it. The Phils 11-12 record could be 15-8 is we could reverse just 4 games. Just 4 games where our starters should have gone 6 or 7 innings and relievers were on. So much for April. As weather warms up, maybe so will the pitching. I'm still counting on the Phils winning 90 this season.
Yea jvett. The Phillies are behind in keeping pitchers in the pipeline both with their farm system and watching who's available that are good pitchers. They are just behind and thus they are stuck with NON-Top Shelfers. Maybe they'll get off their lazy asses and get with the program. Maybe.
