Another clutch hit by Mayberry. After 99 pinch hit appearances he is one of the best pinch hitters the Phillies have had.

Nice win and it looks like Rollins was the hero. A nice three-game winning streak. We are encroaching on that .500 mark again and maybe we will get ourselves out of the cellar-maybe.

The Phillies and their coaches must really be stupid. Hamels gets thrown out at third with no outs. Rollins gets disoriented on the basepath, fails to recognize that the long fly was uncatchable and ends up not scoring. No wonder they're 25th in runs scored. Not to mention their on - off pitching staff.

I agree jvett. How can you be that stupid after all these years? And what the hell are the coaches doing? We had a chance to win this and Rollins gets a major geriatric brain fart or something and that play at third was completely stupid. WTH? Onward we go.

Actually, that stat 25th in runs is misleading. That's for all 30 MLB teams. The AL skews the stats. The Phillies hitting stats are actually not that bad. Using the sortable MLB team stats for the NL, the Phillies rank 8th in runs, 6th in avg and OBP, 8th in SLG, and 5th in OPS. They're 5th in doubles and 3rd in triples, but only 12th in HRs. Pitching? Forget it! Yes, stupidity and pitching are the problems.
