I find it interesting that a lot of people love Phil and think he's such a great guy, but there is this distinguished group of people who absolutely hate the guy and I've never really heard anyone explain why.

Do you like him? Do you hate him? Why?

I'll reserve my opinion for right now.

and he's been through quite a bit of shit... his wife and mom have breast cancer (or they had it, i think they're pretty much over it now)... which is a lot more than most other golfers or just people in general have to go through

It's just weird to me, because every once in a while I will hear of a story about Phil being an asshole, but I usually read it in a blog or something. And then I read stories about Phil flying across the country to help dying children in need. And then the next day I'll hear a story that Phil was driving down the freeway out in California and ran somebody off the road into the ditch because he didn't like the way they were driving. And then the very next day I'll read another story about Phil donating half of his tournament winnings to a charity for student education.

I don't get it.....I don't know who to believe. The one time I saw Phil in person (practice round at Medinah) he walked by me and my friend and I said, "go get 'em Phil"......and he turned towards me and said, "thank you very much and I appreciate you guys coming out."

So I guess it confuses me to hear all these different stories.
