Actually I think people are too hesitant to admit that some of the current players are as good as they are.

It is more about years I think. Tons of players have a flash in the pan breakout that fall to earth. With the older players you know what their career is. You always see players like Lin or Flip Murray who flash for a brief stretch before settling down to what they truly are.

It is a subjective formula though, how long is sustained excellence needed before you can throw them into their predecessors level. Everyone has their own view for that I think.

Well, this round is more like it, both of my top 2 players gone in the first 2 picks. Always nervous when my top player makes it to me - does no one else like him?

I agree but there's a huge difference between Jeremy lin who had like a 30 game peak and draymond Green or Mike Trout.

I also tend to base my decisions on how good players were at their peaks so if trout never batted 250 again I wouldn't care care because he's already played at an all time level for 4 straight seasons.

Femur is 3 for 3 on taking the player I had queued up. Based on history I can safely assume that Femur is taking Jimmer in round 8.

I could not believe Olajuwon fell to pick 7 in round 2. For a second I thought he might go all the way to 4 and I could get him.

Exactly, he wasn't supposed to be there. I had to change my strategy since I thought there was no way I was getting him!

I can safely say I'm probably not going to take him. I can also say, someone might get their feelings hurt, though.
