Noebels has I think 3 goals in 5ish games played with the phantoms. They seem to have gotten in a little bit of a groove here lately. Akeson has been real solid.

Just saw that on twitter. They came back from 5-2 down in the 3rd with 2 in the last 2 minutes to force OT. Unfortunately they lost, but good heart down on the farm.

Does Noebels get a crack at the flyers with briere, hartnell and schenn out? Would be a neat story, echl all the way up. He's the only top 6 forward in the system at this point except maybe akeson. Harry z isn't a goal scorer.

I hear ya. I'm torn because on the one hand the Flyers need to grow some ballsack and on the other hand we need all the skill we can get on the ice.

Apparently he never adjusted well to North America and fell out of favor with the Flyers. Lack of work ethic was their beef. He got sent down to Trenton and then proceeded to lose his starting job for them.

because they do things like trade for boucher, release a guy in the ECHL, and demote their most promising guy in the AHL to the ECHL, to fill up their minor league teams

but i would think that probably going way back in time we would at least get lucky once and have a solid goaltender that would put us over the top as cup contenders.

That's true. Part of it is that every team is good at developing different positions. The Flyers like to totally ignore the goalie position but are very, very good at developing centers. Bobby Clarke used to be even worse than Homer with goalies.
