Who catches the most passes this year, assuming they both stick.....
Perriman's starting job is his to lose, so I'd go with him.
I'd assume he'll start out slow, then get better the season goes on.
They are raving about Butler in camp and Perriman is still getting his drops......
Neither will start, it will be Steve and Aiken to start and although Butler had a good showing in OTA's, Perriman is the one with the biggest upside....Size, speed, physical....I've seen Megatron drop several balls during a real game so that don't concern me, Torrey was bad for that as a rookie and we coached him up to be pretty good, Perriman has more upside than him and is better than Torrey at this point...
Marlon Brown and Camp is in the mix too don't forget....
Perriman will get touches but unless Aiken drops off, he's not starting the season....Aiken was coming on last yr and made a significant improvement in OTA's....He's projected to be the starter opposite Smith Sr....
Butler or perriman? May be both. Saw that Butler likes the slot. Could challenge Camp for that slot position Which will leave Aiken, Perriman, Smith and Brown fighting for some plays.
Butler had 31 catches in 8 games - not a bad rookie effort.
How is Perriman's recovery going?????
chalk one up for me!
I think Perriman will be highly motivated, with the situation with his dad and grieving over Tray Walker... Not to mention all the flack he received last year for having the "slowest healing PCL strain ever". All of that should add some fire to his stride.
Either way, if they all stay healthy (fingers crossed!) it's a good problem to have. Lots of depth there.
Is Perriman a slot or outside WR? Don't think I know his size or skillset. But with Wallace on the roster it will push Perriman to excel. Both are speedsters with drop issues. Wallace is proven though so he has the edge.
Sink or swim time for the redshirt rook.
