good win. Didn't think it would take until game 3 of the season, but to get it against a team that shut them down last season, it's always nice.

michalek did not finish the game, so that's not good. Along with Orpik being scratched. Maybe Despres is coming up?

Not the best effort the team has put forth this year, but a win is a win... Still too many turnovers, not enough support in their own zone, esp in the 3rd. Give the devs credit with their forecheck, but I'm more concerned with the pens than giving credit... Johnson was the man.

Orpik's injury is going to plague him the rest of his career. I hope nothing broke of Michalek, I was worried about his wirst, but it appearred they were checking his ribs on the bench.

It's tough to win a game with only 15 skaters (although that's a great turnout for our beer league games).

I was impressed with Johnson today, he played very well between the pipes. Congrats to the Pens and their fans.

Hopefully michalek will be all right. That would be a big loss if he is out for any extended time. I wonder who would get a call from WB/S for them among the defensemen?

I actually thought Potter would get the nod over Engelland coming out of camp... so I hope he would be the call-up.

I'm pleased with the victory. I think it's important to note that two of the best defensemen on the team right now are still learning the system, and both of them are coming out of systems that are very different from the one the Penguins run. It's going to take a couple weeks for those guys to really make their impact. Martin's looked great already, though, in my opinion.

I think the forwards are going to start clicking very soon, as well. They've been getting shots and chances early on, but just haven't buried them yet. That will likely start happening pretty soon, especially if they stay this strong and aggressive on the forecheck. The one think I would like to see out of them, though, is a little more aggressiveness getting the puck to the net.
