SFNL
is a little bit warmer
Redd will probably open the door for others who are sitting on the fence not wanting to be the 'first' to betray their team-mates.
This could be true. Either way, I'm still waiting for it to get ugly.

What I think is COMPLETE bullshit is that players have up to a year to transfer.
Not getting enough playing time? Leave.
Coach make you sad today? Leave.
Cafeteria stop serving your favorite soft serve? Leave
I think the NCAA screwed the pooch on this particular part of the sanctions.
I say this was a win for NCAA. Can you imagine the massive "why punish the kids (meaning football players)" cry from Happy Valley if the players didn't have a choice? I can.
So right now Penn State fans can only cry "poor us, these sanctions are too tough". Which is horseshit IMO.
How would that be punishing them? That they won't be able to play on the big stage for the NFL? I thought Emmert said academics was more important.

Seriously though... I appreciate the effort to try and help out the student athletes that they just fucked, but they did it all wrong.
How on earth the NCAA allowed opposing coaches to come on campus and recruit like a bunch of Mormons is beyond fathomable to me. These kids should be allowed to contact schools if they wish to leave, but they shouldn't be baited into other situations. THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL SPORTS. THIS IS NOT FREE AGENCY.
The NCAA should have provided a list of contact information for any player who wished to test the waters. Now, PSU players that do want to stay are probably resisting the urge to punch these door-to-door salesmen in the fucking face.
Do I blame other teams for this? No. Do I blame the fucked up NCAA? You betcha.
FUCK OFF EMMERT

Punishing them because they don't get to play for Big Ten championship and play in bowl games. After all, they didn't have anything to do with Sandusky's crimes.
From another thread. Yeah, it sucks for us as fans but the NCAA has actually made it even more difficult on student athletes from PSU and has violated their own codes of conduct in the process. THAT, my friend, is the bullshit here
That's the NCAA's fault, not theirs. Hell the NCAA is so corrupt it shouldn't have been allowed to do anything to PSU. Look at Kentucky basketball and tell me how much the NCAA really cares about academics and student athletes.

My humble opinion is that they should have made it so a kid could transfer without penalty up until the first practices.
They should have also put in the stipulations that the kid would have to contact the NCAA stating their desire to transfer at which time the NCAA would release that to the other universities. It would have prevented the Vulture effect that we are currently witnessing.
The kicker/punter Anthony Fera has reached out to Texas. He was a Lou Groza semifinalist and considered one of the best specialists in America. Texas lacks anyone with kicking experience, so he is likely gone.
