Fleury is a mediocre goalie. Been saying it for years. Fans/mgmt mistook a strong, small sample for "clutch." Lateral is average, stickwork is among the worst, good glove hand, average positioning.

Non-Pens' fans can only hope the organization continues to stick by him.

He's also paid like an average goalie, so there's that. I don't think he'll be getting a raise next time around.

But if there's anything the NHL has shown, there's no more goalie guarantees come playoff time. Seems like every year, somebody unsuspecting steps up.

It was the major knock on him early on, then it seemed as though he improved on it a bit, but every time I watch the Pens all I can think is wow Fleury's rebound control has to be near the worst in the league. Just smother that shit, devour it and stop play.
