Let's just forget about this game, pretend it didn't happen. On to the Islanders.

The Stars dominated a few times even when Dupuis was in the lineup, but it really hurt them when he wasn't.

Of all times Sid picked to be stupid. . . . . . Right at the end of a close game. When he took the tripping penalty I said that the Pens were going to lose in regulation.

The season is young, hopefully they'll learn from this and move on, but you can't help feeling that they plucked defeat from the jaws of victory.

It was just a really sh*tty game IMO. Hats off to the Stars but this game felt like sh*t. Really derailed the season.

Doob's take: Pens' defense has been a question mark and it cost us big time against the Stars on Thursday night. Islanders are probably the hottest team in the league with a 4-0 record while scoring 4.5 goals per game, so this is a big test for our questionable D. Although I don't have a good feeling about this game, I'm going to pick the Pens to win by a score of 5-4.

This game will be a good test to see where we are. Beating the Islanders will tell me we're a team that could contend with anyone in the conference, losing would mean we're still the same as last year. Fear here is that the Islanders are a team that could exploit our biggest weaknesses. If we could overcome them then maybe our weaknesses aren't as big deal as thought.

I hope they come out tonight pissed off about how Thursday night went. And then I want them to punch these Isles right in the mouth and stake a claim that if NY thinks this is their division now, they are mistaken. Can't let these guys go five games in a row to start the season. Fleury needs to show up, because by my eyes, he hasn't had a real solid showing through three games.
