That was totally unexpected, great job by the Pens' PK tonight!

Hopefully this is a sign that we got our PK in order. We went up against one of the PP units in the league & shut them down.

Although we only had 2 games last week, we had a lot of ups and downs. We lost to the Stars and lost Dup. Then Dup came back against the Isles and our questionable penalty kill came up big against one of the top power plays in the league.

So far, Pens have exceeded my expectations. Johnston appears to be willing to change game plans accordingly, Pens PK isn't as bad as we thought, offense is clicking, and Patric Hornqvist has done a fantastic job of replacing James Neal. Even MAF appears to be getting better with every game. So far good start.

Next week's schedule,

vs Philadelphia Flyers on the 22nd
@ Detroit Red Wings on the 23rd
@ Nashville Predators on the 25th

It was a very encouraging game after the meltdown against the Stars.

It was a big game, and the team responded to it like that. Great to see them outplay the Isles down the stretch. Going to be an intense matchup all year when these two go at it, I think.
