Rainiers are starting Jonathan Aro today in place of James Paxton, who received lots of #hugs, but I've got no further info.

Word is that James Paxton is on his way to San Diego and is expected to be activated tomorrow. No word on why yet. Not sure why they'd be bringing Paxton up at this point, unless one of current pitchers has a health issue. Felix scheduled to go tomorrow.

You'd kind of figure it'd be Felix or Kuma, because if it's Walker they wouldn't need to scratch him tonight. But it's not a good sign either way cause that means Felix is headed for the 15 day DL not just missing a start cause they have Montgomery in the pen to go 5 or whatever.

Could they just be wanting to give Felix an extra couple days and push him back to the Texas series? The roster move tomorrow should tell the story.

I think that if they were going to put Felix on the DL, they wouldn't have waited this long to do it; though you could argue that, if they are putting Felix on the DL, they waited this long to do it just to keep San Diego in the dark about who they'd be facing in game 1 of the series. But if we've heard that Paxton was scratched from his Tacoma start, then the San Diego people must have heard about it too; and if they've heard about it, there's a pretty good chance that they're doing the same speculating that we are about it. And it's not like they've never seen Paxton pitch before, either on video or in-person, so it's not like they'd be going up against a complete unknown.

Could be a handful of reasons.
Couple things come to mind right away:
-Since they wouldn't need to call him up until he is needed, points to an injury to either Felix or a bullpen guy like Nuno or Montgomery.
-Something else I was thinking was they want to get Montgomery(does Montgomery have options left?) a couple starts in Tacoma to stretch him out to take over for Miley in the rotation. And they are using Paxton as an opportunity to push back the starters an extra day. But the timing of it all is a little strange for this to be the case.
-Could be as simple as a spot start giving the rotation an extra day

May be going with a six man rotation since they don't have an off day in this current stretch from 5/27-6/12
