I haven't watched any hockey or read any coverage since Saturday, because I had to wait 48 hours to un-blackout the game and be able to watch it (weird fucking game, btw).

HOLY SHIT. Man, two REALLY good trades recently. The market for Dmen is gonna be kinda rough this year and we really got ahead of the pack. They aren't going to be Prongers, but at least they won't be Liljas.

It's sort of a big deal. Now any one of our defensemen can play 20+ minutes on any given night, but none of them need to be extended to the 23 to 25+ range. That means less wear and tear on guys like Timonen, Carle and Coburn, plus a lot more physicality, experience, penalty killing and shot blocking from the back end via Grossman and Kubina.

Yes, Grossman only got 16:08. I think he can (and will) be relied on more than that. Still, look at Winnipeg. Their defense relied heavily on just three or four guys without Bogosian. Yeah, Timonen got close to 24, but Byfuglien, Hainsey and Enstrom were all out on the ice for longer. I like to think that will matter a lot more in the playoffs.

Yeah, Timonen got close to 24, but Byfuglien, Hainsey and Enstrom were all out on the ice for longer. I like to think that will matter a lot more in the playoffs.
