Alex Smith became just the 2nd QB to throw for 4 TDs and 0 INTs against the Pats since Belichick took over in 2000. The Pats face the other QB next week.

More fun facts: The only other QB to go into New England, since 2000, throw 4 TDs, and win?

Colin Kaepernick

Brady's timing was terrible Thursday. I feel pretty confident that will improve but clogging the middle seems like a good plan in general against the Pats until he does.

it sure looks like the D is going to need help this year.

yeah when he had a wide open guy on the first play and airmailed the ball 10 feet over his head, I was hoping a little rust but he was off all game

You are quite correct OS. It will happen to everyone - eventually.

Maybe so, but it's kind of going to be a knockoff and Brady/Gronk is just too good to not punish the slightest weakness on the offensive side of things.
Lots of credit needs to go to Reed. He's not just some 6'-5", 250 lb, 12 y/o behemoth he's actually a very good coach when he has additional time to game plan.

Serious question.
When Brady retires, how many Pats fans leave the fold?

Pats started the 2014 season with a loss to Miami, and were 2-2 after 4 games (with the other loss being an absolute pasting by the Chiefs...).

How'd that season end up?

No panic here.

Hey Moose I wasn't here yesterday because I only post when I'm at work usually. Nice fucking win on Thursday. I was impressed. I came into the season thinking the Chiefs were gonna have a tough season because of their schedule. They shut me up for the time

Yeah, after Ware went down my concern level for the team was getting pretty up there knowing how lackluster the running game was for much of last year; and still down their starting LG Ehinger. That and I couldn't say with any honesty how close to pre-ACL Houston we were going to get. Bennie Logan was coming in from another team. Johnson off his 2nd achilles. With Nelson going down, a very important slot CB given the lack depth after the Peters-Mitchell-Nelson triumvirate, also has me pretty worried.

Lot of roster juggling and I am just not a big fan of that usually. Berry is out now, but Sorenson was productive last year; they won't be able to wipe TE's completely out of existence like they could with Berry, nor have a cover robber which saved their butts vs Atlanta last year, but it won't be easy pickings either. So far the juggles are mostly going in the Chiefs' favor. Most important unit going forward is the OL, if that wasn't an anomaly Thursday night, the offense could be very neat to watch, even if not quite elite or feared per se.

I doubt that many. We still have Steelers, Packers, Raiders, and Cowboys fans across the country like roaches. The lowest common denominator sure. This isn't the NBA though where the Pats are going to lose about 400k followers once Brady is gone like the Heat did with Lebron. (someone will probably correct me on the exact number the Heat lost)

OK it wasn't really a serious question. Just wondering who the Brady fans will latch onto.

Pats don't have this market covered, Dallas had their Romo first fans, Colts had some Peyton first fans.

That was in jest, you must be the only one who didn't know it....:rolleyes2:

...but if they had actually gone 6-10 it would be a swami prediction, not jest.

Same amount as any team that goes into recline.

By the way, they have been selling out since long before Brady.

Brady ? It's 1 game. He's bound to start declining soon, but if I were a Pats fan I'd be a lot more worried about the 550 yards my team just gave up at home than I would Brady.

Nope, more worried about the injuries.

Makes thread about Pats fans panicking

*No Pats fans panic*

The OP is a Baltimore Raisins fan. His team is so pathetic that he has been reduced to celebrating when a different, non divisional opponent loses. It's pretty sad, but if you knew Oldstool like we do you'd expect nothing less.

As a Patriots fan, I was disappointed Thursday night, but it doesn't change my thoughts on how the season will play out. I predicted 12, possibly 13 wins and I don't think that is out of reach because of one bad game.

If I was a Chiefs fan I wouldn't be looking for the phone number of an engraver, it's only one game. I don't expect Smith's game of his life stats to become the norm at this point in his career.
