Bill Belichick received four additional draft picks Friday afternoon, giving the New England Patriots 10 total.
The Patriots were awarded four compensatory selections in the 2016 NFL Draft: a third-rounder (96th overall) and three sixth-rounders (208th, 214th and 221st overall). The Patriots were awarded the selections because they lost cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, running back Shane Vereen, defensive tackle Vince Wilfork and linebacker Akeem Ayers a year ago. They gained defensive end Jabaal Sheard.

The Patriots’ first round pick was taken away as part of their Deflategate punishment. They traded their fifth-round pick to the Texans for wide receiver Keshawn Martin and Houston’s sixth-round pick. They also traded a sixth-round pick to the Chicago Bears for linebacker Jon Bostic and acquired a seventh-round pick for trading quarterback Ryan Mallett to the Texans.
