Dobson and Thompkins are both healthy scratches tonight..leaving Edelman, Amendola and Lafell as the top 3 wideouts. Lafell and Amendola have done absolutely nothing all year, Gronk hasn't been tearing the place down, Vereen's catches are way down..what is the deal with the NE passing game? Same OC they had when Brady and Moss set the world on fire, same head coach, and it's not like those five WR's are inept..is it Brady? Could Tom Terrific be dropping off a cliff?

i think he could be, and the oc and billy are getting cute, they are leaving talent on the sidelines, and horrible play calling

My heart aches for them no not really :nono:.. I have no idea why either of those WR's would be healthy scratches from a team like the Patriots. Outside of Gronk I don't see a difference maker on the field. But he hasn't been producing like Gronk. I think it's more about the pieces around him than the total demise of Brady.

Remember when Amendola was supposed to be the new Welker?

Yup I was so pleased that I picked him up off the wire before going to the Pats in my dynasty PPR league. I cut him this year and no one picked him up.

I yelled as loud as I could that Edelman would be that guy and Amendola would be a bust. .. Some listened, most didn't

I had high hopes for Dobson. Is he really a healthy scratch? Injured? Is he just a bad football player? I've been waiting for the fall of Brady for too long now. Too bad the Bills aren't in a position to do something about it.

Maybe not yet, but the Bills seem headed in the right direction, Manuel/Orton notwithstanding...

Brady has never been great without great receivers. I thought with a year with this new receiving crew under his belt and Gronk back and Vereen healthy he'd do very well. But there's a reason Brady was pissed about losing Mankins. With time and great receivers he's a great QB, with time and meh receivers he's okay. With no time and meh receivers he's in trouble - especially without Welker who was very good at catching the quick-release pass.

Brady has a better killer instinct than Peyton, but Peyton makes receivers better and Brady doesn't.

In his prime, never seen anyone 'throw guys open' more than Brady, better than Peyton. Peyton is a better tactician before the snap.

I dunno Will.. He may not have been great without Moss... but I'd hardly call Brandon Lloyd, Troy Brown, Givens, Branch, Caldwell and Gaffney great WR's, and he was still easily good enough to be your every week starter. Not elite by any means, but pretty darn good

His great years were all with Welker/Gronk/Hernandez or Moss. Before Moss, and after Welker/Hernandez, he hasn't had a 30-TD season. He was essentially a low-level QB1 for the six years before Moss, except for one year where he snuck up to #2 in a bad year for QBs. I think he'd still be in that range if their line wasn't a mess.
