I had mentioned this the other day not in so many words, the experts are all over the place on the evaluations of these potential LTs. I'm certainly no expert on evaluating linemen. But I wonder how much of a difference is there between the top Ts? Does it equate to say Trapilo giving up a couple more pressures and one sack a game over say Campbell. If that's the difference would it be worth possibly getting the next great DE on a rookie contract?
You are correct about the experts eval's of OT's in this draft.
The proof is in the reading. I have never seen this much disgreement on the OL.
I use this site as well especially to see where players are projected to go.

But, to me it's not hard #s. Without being smart and saying 1%, what's the difference between a 98 and a 97 grade? Sure you can look at the pros and cons. Look at college film. But without everything being equal is that really the best method? I don't expect an answer because there probably isn't one. Does that equate to giving up a couple more pressures and one sack per game?

If so, I think I'd be willing to roll the dice and sign a potential franchise DE. The NE would be scary good.
I use Draftbuzz for general info. They are very optimistic about tackles this year.
I use Walter football for opinions but not pick placement. They are overly pessimistic this year.
Somebody will get some players right this year but not all of them and not right away!

Considering what's available in the draft, I think they should trade out of #4 and pick up one or two extra picks.

Rather than settling for Campbell, take Cornely or Ersery because both are LTs a point or so beneath the Campbell so called score. Grab Banks if he's there. Hopefully, they'll spend year one learning the NFL trade from someone Like Tyron Smith.
Not Opposed to extra draft capital. I prefer Campbell but as long as we get a quality high ceiling LT I am good. I just feel that has to be the first position we draft

I would be okay with this. Adding Booker and Taylor after Banks should shore up the line, I'm torn on Egbuka might want a RB there if we could still land a guy like Higgins

According to the Kansas City Star the Patriots will trade the #4 to the LV Raiders and then pick WR McMillan with the #6. This will start a domino effect and start a purge on the WRs available.

The Baton Rouge Advocate thinks that the Saints will get the #4 from the Patriots for #9, #65 and #219.

Chicago Sun times thinks that the Bears will get the #4 for #10, #76 and 2026 2nd round pick.

Interesting how all of the hometown Newspapers are trying to figure out some way that their team will do a trade that benefits them for what they think is close to the draft value of #4. Why would the Patriots be willing to swap without getting a couple of hundred points higher via more picks like Round 1 and Round 2 and maybe a 6?

Not interested in the LVR deal. But I would take the other two if offered.

What!?! You don’t want to trade our 4 for the Raiders 6?? That’s a great deal! We don’t need anything else thrown in.
I wound not grab a WR there, and I have seen mocks where Campbell is there at 6. Question becomes if we do this who do we take at 6 if Campbell is not there? If we take a LT would that be a reach for the second T off the board. Don't want a RB here, defense seems in place.

From all of the gradings and expert synopsis, there doesn't seem to be a whole hell of a lot difference from #1 through #7 of the available LTs. It's almost a 50/50 split on Campbell or Banks as the best LT available and about half of the Campbell backers agree that he would be a dominant OG.

If Campbell isn't there, Banks or Conerly could step in.

But I'd much rather have an experienced NFL LT for them to learn from. Both good and bad.

Robinson or Smith. Both have good and bad characteristics and flaws.

1 through 7 seems a hell of a stretch there is no way I am buying the 7th ranked LT is only a smidge worse than the #1 LT. I would be okay with Banks as well, but I feel for LT after Banks the drop off happens. Is what you are reading specific to LT or just T across the board.

The advantage of drafting a LT is 1. Will cost you less than a Vet. 2. You get that fifth year option.

Depending on who/what you read, Campbell has been scored between 83 and 87, same for Banks.

There's no guarantee that any of these guys can play a solid left tackle in the NFL. I'll take any of them to replace Lowe, but what if they are worse?
We know that Tyron Smith can play Pay Him $5M Guaranteed and a $2M bonus for every game he plays over 10. If he plays 17 he makes $19M. If he plays 17, the drafted LT will learn a lot from him.

I think I removed all of the RTs.

Three different "EXPERTS" below with their picks.

This is PFF:

OT1. Will Campbell, LSU

Big board rank: 6
Campbell is an offensive lineman’s offensive lineman. He approaches the position with excellent respect for what it takes to be great in the trenches: fundamentals, IQ and competitive toughness. His length and flexibility limitations might push him inside in the NFL, but this is a starting-caliber player at all five spots on the line.

OT2. Armand Membou, Missouri

Big board rank: 11
Membou presented a high athletic ceiling in 2023 before his confidence and control took off in 2024. There are times when he could play with more power, but he brings starting-caliber length and movement ability to the NFL with good production as a zone blocker.

OT3. Josh Simmons, Ohio State

Big board rank: 18
Simmons brings impressive flexibility, leverage, foot speed, balance and hand work to the NFL with an adequate frame. He lacks a bit of power in the run game and is coming off an ACL tear in 2024, but his movement skills and football intelligence make him worthy of a top-50 pick and a shot to be a starter early on.

OT3. Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas

Big board rank: 20
Banks is an NFL-caliber athlete at the tackle position whose movement skills and run-blocking abilities give him positional versatility. His lack of arm length could hinder him at offensive tackle, but he projects as an impact starter at either tackle or guard.

OT5. Grey Zabel, North Dakota State

Big board rank: 31
Zabel is a five-position lineman who brings everything but elite arm length to the position. He is an easy projected starter at center or guard for primarily a zone blocking scheme, but he is well-rounded enough to be run-game versatile.

WALTERS:

1. Will Campbell*, OT, LSU
Height: 6-6. Weight: 319.
40 Time: 4.98.
Projected Round (2025): 1.

3/14/25: Campbell was a steady blocker in 2024 and reliable at protecting the quarterback. He’s had some mixed games in 2024 where he allowed some pressures, but has played well overall. Campbell is not a dominant destroyer at the point of attack, but he looks like a safe pick to be a solid pro starter.
2. Kelvin Banks, OT/G, Texas
Height: 6-5. Weight: 315.
40 Time: 5.16.
Projected Round (2025): 1.

3/14/25: Banks played very well against Michigan while taking a group of future NFL defensive linemen. Team sources say that Banks has good athleticism and is a solid player. Some feel he has a body that is better suited for guard with short arms (33.5 inches).

3. Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
Height: 6-3. Weight: 332.
40 Time: 4.91.
Projected Round (2025): 1-2.

3/14/25: Membou started at right tackle, and he played well for Missouri. Given his lack of length and 33.5 inch arms, some evaluators think Membou should move inside to guard in the NFL. Membou is a good athlete with upside.

4. Grey Zabel, OT/G/C, North Dakota State
Height: 6-6. Weight: 312.
Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
Projected Round (2025): 1-2.

3/14/25: Zabel has started at guard and tackle for the Bison over the past couple of seasons, and he has versatile size for the NFL, where he could compete at either spot. Zabel earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl and had an excellent week of practice.

5. Josh Conerly Jr.*, OT, Oregon
Height: 6-5. Weight: 311.
40 Time: 5.05.
Projected Round (2025): 1-3.

3/14/25: Conerly played well for Oregon. Team sources think Conerly is a quality athlete and shows some strength as a run blocker. They feel he has a potentially fatal flaw with no ability to anchor, and that was illustrated in the pass rushing one-on-ones at the Senior Bowl. That inability to anchor could force him to move inside to guard. However, they think that Conerly could be an excellent guard in the NFL.

6. Josh Simmons*, OT, Ohio State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 5.00.
Projected Round (2024): 1-2.

3/14/25: Simmons was on his way to being a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft before suffering a season-ending ACL tear against Oregon. Simmons is an athletic left tackle that has quickness and agility to go along with good size and strength.

8. Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota
Height: 6-6. Weight: 331.
40 Time: 5.01.
Projected Round (2025): 2-3.

3/14/25: Ersery has had a solid start to the season for Minnesota. Against North Carolina, he blocked well overall. However, he might fit better as a right tackle in the NFL. Team sources say Ersery is talented and has a good skill set, but he is very inconsistent, and that caused him to get day two grades by area scouts.

12. Jalen Travis, OT, Iowa State
Height: 6-8. Weight: 339.
40 Time: 5.14.
Projected Round (2025): 3-5.

3/14/25: Travis is a large tackle that could compete to be a developmental starter at right tackle. He also could be a candidate to move inside to guard. Travis had a solid weak of practice at the Senior Bowl and is a scrappy fighter at the point of attack.

The only LT's I see in any of the 3 experts picks are, Simmons, Milium, and Conerly.
There are other prospects too, in later rounds.
To me, (I'm not Scar) There are no LT's in top 15 picks without risk......

And nevertheless, we need one. The question remains, what do we do? And we all have a different opinion. Including FO
Me I am taking a LT at 4. If the raider wanted to swap two spaces and give us another 3rd I am still taking a LT, if we move to 10 I am still taking a LT. Campbell and Banks one of the two would likely be available at 10
