He doesn't have to live in cave or not have a life to be a NFL QB. From what I have read, he is the first one in to practice and works hard. Don't think that is the issue.

I am not saying he does, but whens the last time you ever heard a peep out of a Peyton Manning, or a Drew Breese off the field. It might be just because I am a fan I hear so much about Kaepernick, and thats what I wanted to believe, but its showing on the field.

I'm not saying for sure that his work ethic and film study are sub par, but it sure stinks like it.

No, it was 6-0, and that FG put us up by more than a TD. I have no problem with that one as they'd stopped us on several short yardage plays, and our D was playing well. The long rushing TD turned out to be a back-breaker. But that's primarily because the offense couldn't do anything in the second half.

No way... if a team can't get 1 yard(for a first) or 2 yards(TD), then they don't deserve to win... Gore has been gashing them at that point in the game... if they get stop, where does Carolina get the ball? as long as the play was a run and not pass, it should've been good.

NOT playing for 7 and settling for 3s have beaten us time and time again...

Especially Carolina being regarded as a top defense... what makes one think the Niners will go back to the Carolina 2? infact, did the niners EVER get into the redzone? heck Car territory?

You got to go for those haymakers... show confidence and build big leads...

in the end, 3 scoring drives gave us 9pts, two scoring drives gave Car 10....:L

question is what is he practicing on? working hard where, the weight room?

right now, his passing game dropped leaps and bounds from wk 1....

I am sure both of those guys are involved in activities off the field during the season but we just don't hear about them

I don't know who all is calling for Smith, but at least with Smith you got a consistent 11/24 for 190 1td and no picks most the time. But sadly neither of them is Brady and gonna win the game on there own. We were all fooled to think that Kap may of been that type of guy but he isnt and doesnt seem like he will be anytime soon.

Who exactly does Kap have to throw to that allows you to make such a statement? Once VD went down, our next best option became a WR that is slower than molasses, a WR returning from a major injury, and a rookie TE with bad hands. Without time to throw, there is no way Kap is going to consistently complete passes to this ragtag group of receivers. This is the reason most wanted us to make the damn trade for either Josh Gordon or Hakeem Nicks.

You and me are saying the same shit. I'll blame it on these guys being frustrated but man it's embarrassing reading some of these posts.

It's funny cuz we saw these same posts last yr. No wonder our stadium is quiet as hell bad fans.

That's bullshit. I never gave up on this team during the game. I went into the last drive saying, "Ok, this is an opportunity to win a close game. Let's do it!" And Kap promptly took a sack he absolutely could not take, and then threw a pick. He deserves tremendous criticism. Next week, I will be cheering him on as ardently as ever. That doesn't mean I'm not going to criticize his poor play.

Yeah the point was the kind of activities, and what it says about his priorities. I don't begrudge him being a young man, and having fun etc.. Somewhere there is a problem, his play should not be getting worse.

I was getting concerned when I heard time and time again about Kap at this photo shoot, Kap at this party, Kap dating this girl, and etc.. Its really starting to show. I am really questioning whether or not he has the work ethic, and focus to be a good QB in this league.
This isn't just anger from this game. I been grimacing for a while when I see all his distractions.
He seams to almost never throw a WR open, He isn't reading defenses quickly enough etc..
I mean time will tell he can fix all this.

P.S. I know the team line about showing up first and leaving last BS, every team says that about thier QB.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I think he's a hard worker, and I know he's an intelligent guy, but when your play on the field is this poor, all the off-field BS comes right to the front. I don't love that stuff, but if he's got attitude and shows it on the field, that's fine. If you're playing like this, there's no room for that distraction. Take care of your business on the field, or just go be a professional celebrity.

He has the same WR that torched us in last year super bowl, and the receiver that torched us in the NFC championship game the year before. Yeah make the damn trade that both the Brown and Giants said were untrue. Hell why not just get Calvin, this aint madden.

I would agree with this. The WRs might be a problem but doesn't excuse his holding on to the ball to long and taking sacks that he shouldn't be. And what about our guys down low to checkdown rather than take a sack?

Burying your head in the sand, and pretending everything is great does not make you a good fan. I would wager to say that anyone that has been on this board and ESPN for the length of time I know most of the posters have been is a pretty damn loyal fan, but when your team earns criticism they earn it. They earned it today on offense.

WTG defense though.

I find it very funny that some are completely ignoring the trash we currently have at WR, and then turn around and say that it shouldn't be an excuse because other QB's put up good numbers with nobodies at receiver. If this is true, please name the QB's that accomplish this feat. I can almost bet that not one single young QB is succeeding with receivers as bad as ours. I would take Seattle's receivers over ours, I would take Tennessee's, I would take Tampa Bay's, I would take Miami's. Get it yet? what do all of these teams have at receiver that we don't? Speed... You can't build a good passing offense with your only deep threat being your TE. Once VD leaves the field our passing attack becomes comical.

Really? My buddy was at the game celebrating his birthday with his family and friends. I couldn't make it because I was at work with a severe set of patients today.

However, from my understanding, groves of fans showed up at 8 am prior to the game doing their tailgating parties and supporting the team. I'm sorry, yeah take your rants and your shots at other fans for making those comments about Alex Smith (look at my posts because I certainly didn't say it), but comments such as those in bold make you sound like an imbecile. The stadium might have been quite but how the hell do you expect fans to react when their team loses looking like shit and not to mention, they like my buddy paid in the hundreds to watch a game where their team, at least offensively, played horrendously? Or did you forget that this was the last year at the Stick so prices for tickets are jacked up this year especially?

Boldin torched as a complimentary player to one of the best deep threats in football. Plain and simple, Boldin can not be a #1 receiving option on any good passing offense. Boldin is too damn slow to consistently create separation, and most of his catches come with defenders draped all over him, which makes him an easy cover if you don't have other options that force coverage away from him and allows him a chance to work in space.

And Manningham just returned from a major injury, and we can't rely on him just yet.

So does Boldin catch with guys all over him or not? If he does I would feed him the ball 99 times out of 100. and why force coverage away from him if he is only gonna catch the ball with guys all over him? Your argument makes no sense.

I didn't say he's been terrible. But he has struggled passing since the Packers game. At times we haven't asked him to make an impact throwing the ball. But his good games seem to come more from running than passing.

Statistically, this is Kap's first bad game since the Indy game.
