California University of Pennsylvania defensive lineman and former Central Catholic standout Jamain Stephens died Tuesday “after suffering from complications of covid-19,” his former high school said in a statement.

Stephens, 20, was a senior business administration major at Cal U. He grew up in Pittsburgh, and was the son of former Steelers offensive tackle Jamain Stephens.

University officials did not disclose Stephens’ cause of death, but Central Catholic acknowledged the virus in a Facebook post memorializing the 2017 graduate.

With the number of COVID 19 cases rising at a blistering pace at the moment with schools shutting down daily it seems..including WVU...its only a matter of time this becomes headlines with power 5 schools...
Cal U of PA is in the PSAC and they postponed Fall sports until Spring. I'm not sure if he was even on campus when this happened. Nonetheless, it will make Cal U evaluate everything again.

Not sure how they are documenting...here at GU they have closed off an entire dorm for Isolation as well as Apartments they have here in the area. Not sure what it looks like at other campuses..GUMEDSTAR unless a respirator is required does not want the patients in the hospital..

Its coming............and soon...

Just days after playing at West Virginia, Baylor's football program paused all activities due to a rash of positive cases on the team and amongst the staff. On Monday night, the school confirmed that there were 28 positive tests for student-athletes and another fourteen for staff members. Athletic Director Mack Rhoades went on his weekly radio spot with SicEm365 and admitted that at least one player - and maybe more - came to Morgantown while contagious due to a false negative in their testing.

"We feel pretty confident that we had a false negative," said Rhoades, meaning the test said negative. "Somebody was on the plane (to Morgantown) that was really infectious, carrying the disease..... it could have been one. It could have been two."

Until a current player ends up hospitalized this fall, there will be no impact on the game.
