I think they keep Palmer to try and save face. They're going down with the ship on that one.

Palmer's only value to that team is if they can trade him somewhere else. he makes too much money and they're yrs away from fielding a competitive team..

I think Palmer holds them hostage by refusing to take a paycut, and the Gm holds him hostage by keeping him there...

Maybe he can walk into the owner's office and retire.

It worked for him before.

It's a different GM, coaching staff, scouting dept... no one is saving face unless the owner would find it embarrassing since he was the owner at the time of the trade...

a player picked in the 3rd rd of the supplemental draft who's had one career start would be the QB on the roster if he's cut...

Buffalo is going with T-Jack.... So, I suppose having only Pryor wouldn't be the worst you could do.

Pryor's interesting. his passing is erratic, but he looks as athletic as any QB I can remember except for Vick in his prime... and he's 6'5 240 lbs

if a roster's talent depleted he could still make some plays on his own..

He might be worth a one yr experiment for them.

if they do cut Palmer I think some type of veteran QB is needed on the roster. at least a Gradkowski-type journeymen

I agree they're some time away from fielding a competitive team, but I'd still like to see Carson with McFadden in a power scheme. With a good offense, anything can happen in the AFC, particularly the AFCW.

I disagree completely. They are easily going to be the last place team in the AFCW. In fact they will probably be the worst team in the AFC unless Jax or Buf is worse.

Now you're picking apart single sentences?

That statement was qualified with "if they have a good offense".

If ANY team in the AFC has a good offense, "anything can happen".

I disagree. Can you name 1 single starter on that defense?

How about addressing Hobspin's "Dline Geathers for another stand?"

topic: Marvin Lewis should be a coordinator or position coach somewhere. Our OC and DC are highly touted and though of as respectable HC candidates... do the math.

Don't need to.

They've had horrendous defenses the last 2 seasons. 2 seasons ago with a good offense (minus McFadden for half the season), they went 8-8. Last season with a bad offense they went 4-12.

As I said, if they have a good offense, anything can happen.

2 seasons ago Denver wasn't as good as they were. If by anything you mean 6-8 wins at best, then sure.

2 seasons ago the Steelers and Patriots were a lot better than they are now. Your point?

Which part of "anything can happen" is difficult to understand? It doesn't mean they're going to win the SB, win their division, or even make the playoffs. But they can be contenders to make the playoffs.

Because even with a "good" offense I see no possible way that happens.
