Anyways, ya. he says shitty job refs.

Larry Scott...
"This was an unusual situation to end the game," said Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott. "After a thorough review, we have determined that the officials fell short of the high standard in which Pac-12 games should be managed. We will continue to work with all our officials to ensure this type of situation never occurs again."

And for the record. It is up to the booth to call down for replays.

Was that a B1G crew upstairs?

I'm pretty sure I heard it during the game, at the beginning. Also saw it in one of the whine fest threads on the matter.

Have looked though and cannot find it in writing.

Isn't that how the games normally are? One conference has the field and the other the booth. I believe so.

But who has the booth?

Obviously the pac officials had the field in ASUs home game. I can't see any conference being ok with giving home field, plus refs, plus the replay booth to their opponent.

But I cant find anything conclusive on the matter.

Why are refs even associated with a conference? That's just stupid....football is football

Although the refs in the B1G are fatter and slower than SEC refs

They should have neutral conference refs in all non conference games involving BCS teams.

They do in bowls, but they have more time to prepare and schedule for that.
How many BCS vs BCS games are there in non-conference really? You had 4 B1G vs P12 games on Saturday, and maybe a handful of others. Less of them than bowl games, really.

It would be a lot of jostling and travel going into that. Guess it could work but it seems like a logistical headache planning that. All the conferences swapping officials en sech.

Plus everyone would be pissed off when they got a PAC crew...

When Ertz gained control of this ball his shoulder was out of bounds.

While the knife is still in the wound, twist it. With force.

Not true. The UF/FSU and Clemson/Scar games the visiting team does not bring their refs.

Some problems happened in the past so that agreement was reached.

In most contracts the visiting teams does bring refs from their conference, but not all. THe Pac-12 and Big-10 contracts stipulates that the HOME team will have the field refs and the VISITING team will have replay officials from their conference. I heard this explained today by the voice of Badger Football. Something the conferences needs to look at.

You can't review it.

If the rule book is used, this can be reviewed:

"ARTICLE 6. No other plays or officiating decisions are reviewable. However,
the replay official may correct egregious errors, including those involving the
game clock, whether or not a play is reviewable.
This excludes fouls that are
not specifically reviewable (Reviewable fouls: Rules 12-3-2-c and d, 12-3-4-b
and 12-3-5-a)."

Wasn't much rule booking going on at the end of that game, though.

YA, that looks really bad now. Even worse.

They ran off the field and didn't even consider this rule.

They are either A incompetent or B incompetent

That is the rule which means the Big 10 replay officials are as much to blame as the PAC refs on the field.
