USC 'leaning toward' retaining Clay Helton as football coach for 2020 season, per report

Will be interesting what class Helton puts together if the official green light that hes not fired occurs.
The AD has got to make the call this coming week to limit the damage so they can try to add / flip some pieces before LOI.
Helton has been recruiting with both arms tied behind his back this year.

Yep. Unless it's a home run hire, they need to keep him. Kids apparently like him, he's brought stability and cleaned things up. Only better hire they should have made was Orgeron, but I think he was a square peg in a round hole there vs being the square peg in the square hole at LSU...

We can all agree that the game was botched at least as badly as a typical Pac12 game, and that it didn't impact the outcome. It still impacts the enjoyment of the game for all and just looks bad on Fox national feed showcasing the atrocity of the overall officiating STILL after all these years of being a laughing stock.

I’m not trying make an excuse at all for why we lost. I would just prefer him to show that much passion and deck one of the officials for how terrible they were over taking it out on a Paul Wulff apologist. It’s a troll question for sure but Jesus, you get paid 5 million or whatever the hell it is it.

The call on the Arcenado “fumble” has to be the most embarrassing moment that I have ever seen by the shitty Pac 12 officials.

It's year after year is the point. We've seen Scott assure us lawyers wouldn't be in the booth anymore (remember that one lol) and they had commissions to address the issues, hired outside pros, changed who's running it. Nothing they do improves it AT ALL. It's the same hot mess it is every freaking year.

The call just made no sense, first it was ruled a he was down by contact and is under review. Then goober came and said it was forward progress and isn’t reviewable, then goes and reviews it? Then on your guys end McIntosh fumbled the moment he got hit and the ball was in your DB’s hands before he even landed on the ground. It was just embarrassing and took the fun and banter out of the game and just turned into Cougs and Huskies bitching about the officials and seeing which team got screwed this time.
