Most of the folks there likely don't know who he is. So he should be fine for awhile.

Very true. They don't care about football all that much. They like it when he's won and don't panic when they have a losing season. He'd have to be pretty bad for a few years (like five 3 win seasons ) for them to even notice. Expectations just aren't there.
Meanwhile some friends of mine are in that place we all hate. Do you root for your team to lose so the coach will get fired or still root for wins knowing each one makes it harder to fire him ?

they fired Harris after 2 seasons.

like i said shaw has some cache but if Oregon Washington and now Oregon State improving both Cal and WSU have better overall records not sure how long they give him to get back up and not sure its an easy trek.
