Fair enough... Loss to USC in their house 1 score game. Win over Washington in a 1 score game in their house. Run roughshod over the rest of the teams we played. This year we are the real deal. Tried to warn the 'bama fans on another board back in '08 when we were a a Non AQ team...

Decent chance that you'll get to see your two teams (PSU/UU) face each other in the Rose Bowl...wouldn't that be nice?

Watched the UTES yesterday. They looked very very very good. Won’t be shocked if they beat the Ducks in the PAC Championship. I know Captain Obvious, but this is one Duck that is not confident against them.

Nice win for USC @cal.

First time I can say that we got a full 60 minutes of mostly good football from them this season.

Still too many penalties and the o-line wasn't good for a lot of the game. But overall, they played pretty well from start to finish. Especially Slovis and the receivers.

Sitting at 7-4 (5-2) and still can get to the PACCG if they beat that school across town and if Zona or Colorado can upset the Utes (unlikely).

If they beat that school across town and win their bowl game to finish 9-4...does that save Helton's job when you consider all of the injuries and uncertainty around the AD and school President for much of the season...not to mention the constant speculation that Helton was dead coach walking?

My guess is...probably not. Fire Helton has too much momentum.

Best chance for Helton to keep his job would be if USC learns that Meyer isn't interested and other, better coaches aren't either.

However, I expect that with both a new President and new AD in place, the USC job is now more attractive to some of the better coaches than it has been the past few seasons.

Can't imagine that they fire Helton unless there is already an understanding with his replacement.

I'm still shocked UCLA has won more than a game lol.

Something seems to have clicked with their QB (except for last night lol) and the offense has looked a little more like a Chip Kelly offense for the last few games.

I'd hope that would be the case. When Kiffin and Sark were each fired, there didn't even seem to be a thought of who they might be able to get, let alone an understanding with someone to replace them.

But, in both cases, they were fired by AD's with no previous AD experience. So maybe it will be different with a real AD.

I'm seriously on the fence re: Helton.

I don't think he's gotten anywhere close to a fair shot.

Imo, he was the right guy when he took over because we needed a grownup to run the program after Kiffin and Sark. Plus, the kids love him and wanted him to be their coach.

Swann giving him an extension when there were still a lot of questions about him has hurt him as well because folks have held that against him as if he was supposed to turn it down or something. lol

The question now is...is Helton the guy to get them back to the top of cfb?

He probably deserves a season or 2 with some relative stability to show once and for all if he can...but I doubt he'll get it. Especially if they think they can get Meyer (and the new President will allow the hire).

Meyer thing is going to be very interesting. Both Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart have been trying like crazy to sell him on USC. But the rumor was that the new AD had cold feet because the President said "No Meyer", but then has since said that there would be no restrictions on who he can hire.

How'd OSU do in the NCAA tournament?

doesn't matter, beavers kicked your over-hyped cbb team twice last year…like we always do.

this year's Civil War cf game just got interesting…be nice to toss your ducks out of the playoff q and hand ya a L at your house.

the duck tears would be delicious.

Overhyped? We won the conference tourney and went to the S16. What was overhyped about that?
