Kind of a bit early to say anyone is the best anything in the conference isn't it? Every year there are breakout players no one was talking about preseason.

but in a 9 game conference schedule losing 2 and and winning 3 by a score or less doesnt mean domination either.
winning every game doesnt mean domination if you only beat each team by 3 points either.

Then who is dominant is your opinion? Alabama and Clemson I would say have dominated college football in the last few years but with your definition they haven’t?

Not only that. This takes me back when the PAC had a leg to stand on. The climate swing by state or school is more massive in the PAC than any other conference. You could play in the high altitude of Boulder one week, then the next week play in the blazing heat of Tempe. You have wet conditions in Seattle, Eugene, Corvallis and potential snow and cold in Pullman & Salt Lake. Obviously the California schools are very mild. But still vastly different climates.

I didn’t even add in those but good point. Weather and travel have to be put in there as well. It’s just a much tougher conference to go undefeated in because of all of these differences between the Pac 12 and the other P5 schools.

Pac-12 Power Rankings Week 1: Huskies and Cougars start hot, and Oregon falls flat
By Jon Wilner
Bay Area News Group

1. Utah (1-0)

Result: Won at Brigham Young 30-12

Next up: vs. Northern Illinois

Comment: In mid-season form in August, USC’s without its quarterback and nobody else within the division has the horses. Next stop: Levi’s Stadium on the first Friday of December. And from there, on to the Granddaddy.

2. Washington (1-0)

Result: Beat Eastern Washington 47-14

Next up: vs. Cal

Comment: An entire section of the playbook, collecting dust for years, has been turned loose. With Oregon’s unsteady hand and Stanford’s injuries, the Huskies are the team to beat in the North. Also: Welcome back, Chico. Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about …

3. Washington State (1-0)

Result: Beat New Mexico State 58-7

Next up: vs. Northern Colorado

Comment: Gardner Minsh-who?

4. Stanford (1-0)

Result: Beat Northwestern 17-7

Next up: at USC

Comment: The Cardinal has won a load of games over the years — several of them against USC, by the way — with stout defense and unspectacular but opportunistic offense. Could 2019 echo the ’12 and ’13 seasons?

5. Oregon (0-1)

Result: Lost to Auburn 27-21

Next up: vs. Nevada

Comment: Once the receivers get healthy, the offense should shift to a higher gear. But count on the Ducks finding new and bamboozling ways to lose to the top teams in the North. First one comes Sept. 21 at Stanford.

6. USC (1-0)

Result: Beat Fresno State 31-23

Next up: vs. Stanford

Comment: JT Daniels is done, and so are the Trojans — unless, that is, the K-Raid (freshman Kedon Slovis) and a stellar group of receivers can salvage the season. That will require the head coach to stay out of the way.

7. Arizona State (1-0)

Result: Beat Kent State 30-7

Next up: vs. Sacramento State (Friday)

Comment: Jayden Daniels could end up being the best quarterback to come out of Southern California since Sam Darnold.

8. Colorado (1-0)

Result: Beat Colorado State 52-31

Next up: vs. Nebraska

Comment: Laviska Shenault’s healthy … the offensive line is better than expected … the division is a mess. Why in the name of Air Montez can’t the Buffs make a run at second place?

9. Cal (1-0)

Result: Beat UC Davis 27-13

Next up: at Washington

Comment: Arrington, Lynch, Forsett, Best, Vereen … Brown. Forget the first 45 minutes against UC Davis; that was rust. The real Bears showed up in the fourth quarter and are headed to Seattle to smother the Huskies again.

10. UCLA (0-1)

Result: Lost at Cincinnati 24-14

Next up: vs. San Diego State

Comment: Maybe Chip really has lost it.

11. Oregon State (0-1)

Result: Lost to Oklahoma State 52-36

Next up: at Hawaii

Comment: So many losses in store … so many yards and points allowed, so many missed tackles and blown assignments … but at least the Beavers won’t be boring.

12. Arizona (0-1)

Result: Lost at Hawaii 45-38 (Aug. 24)

Next up: vs. Northern Arizona

Comment: Nine days since the debacle in Honolulu, and it has only gotten worse with time. On the bright side: No more of those unbeatable Group of Five opponents on the 2019 schedule.

Sac State is adding to the PAC “image problem”

First the Beavs, now giving Sun Devils all they want.

0-0 mid 2nd quarter.

I don't know. Does it really? Boise beat Marshall 14-7. ASU beat Sac State 19-7. Ugly games are ugly games, but it's not like ASU got beat by Georgia State. They were never behind. They just showed a major, major flaw, the OL.

If we're really worried about win margin against FCS teams, there are plenty of other victims. Shit game, sloppy play, still won without more than maybe like 30 seconds of real drama.

I’m with you, but the National narrative will add it to our conferences “impending doom”

That’s a special case of bullshit. It’s a shame that a school under investigation that doesn’t cooperate makes this kid ineligible.
In other news, Washington, Washington St. and Oregon target 5* LB Sav'ell Smalls left the 1st qtr of tonight's game with an injury and never returned (Kennedy vs Bethel).

Eh, I remember when Jonathan Stewart got hurt when his team was playing against my HS team. Carted him off in an ambulance and he was fine. Plus Bethel is Ghetto as F.

No sir, but did just find out my best friend from HS is coaching the good side of the River Boys. It isn’t ever really fair since Enumclaw’s cheerleaders are always bigger than WR’s lineman.

And full of STD’s back then too? That was always the issue with those girls. If you got with an Enumclaw chick you got a great lay but also came home with a bottle of ointment.
