1. Don't trust Avenatti as a credible source.
2. if it comes out true I would expect some amount of recruiting sanctions going forward
3. forfeit of games he played in which is like 10 a the very start of the season. I dont even remember if he made it to conference play.
4. no impact on conference play or conference tourney or current sweet 16 so meh

Yeah, as I said earlier, Nike may very well be guilty of what he accused them of...but it's going to take someone with more credibility than Avenatti for it to be taken very seriously, imo.

Nobody needs some dude pushing Jesus on them non stop. It’s fine to ask but doing what he did was obnoxious. He’s no victim, just playing the victim card because he couldn’t bully people into practicing his religion

I wouldn't call it bullying and his teammates shouldn't have ripped up the Bibles.

But yeah, take no for an answer and don't wait 12-13 years to use it to try to sell a book.

reply with the last 3 games of the reg season and you'll know the truth. I'll save you the investigative research time.

the two arizona schools at corvallis and the OT loss to washington in seattle kept us out.

At no point during the season did I see a projection with Oregon State as 'IN'. You were on the outside looking in the whole season.

Then again, maybe the committee just didn't want to waste an at-large bid on a team that hasn't won a tournament game since 1982. :pound::pound::pound:

Not really though. Two things can be true at once. Dude can be a complete shitbag but if he has evidence it doesn’t matter.

If he really had something, why wouldn't Nike have paid him? If they are guilty of something it will cost them a lot more than 20 million in damages.

Not really. Its business as usual for sports apparel companies. Nike might get paid a visit by the feds, but they got an army of lawyers on call to minimize the damage. Any financial blowback is a drop in the bucket compared to what that beast generates. Take a look at their quarterly earnings the past couple years.

As for the NCAA, I think the USC sanctions are the last we're going to see of the true hammer anymore. There is so much money involved with the conf broadcast deals, apparel deals, and coaching salaries. Then add in the legal angles of the NCAA without the ability of subpoena power and schools AD depts having high priced law firms employed to protect their interests and "fixers" brought in clean up the money trails and books when obvious illegal shit goes down.

I don't know. I just get the sense nothing will come of this, even with a mountain of obvious evidence. I don't think the NCAA is in the enforcement business anymore.

Of course they can absorb a hit, but if really guilty the 20m to make him go away is easier and less problematic. If the allegations are true, not only is it an end to this scheme to push high end talent to flash their brands once they are pros, but no company wants the fed up their asses even if they don't think they have things to worry about.

As for the NCAA, they have to prove that not only did Nike pay these kids, but that the coaches knew about it. It isn't the schools paying anyone directly. That extra layer is a problem.

The allegations are more about corporate greed and wrong doing than the schools.

Sure it's possible he has something on them and that the schools could be linked, but it doesn't make sense for Nike to basically push him to out them instead of paying him off. He may have something, but probably not near as much as he is promising to deliver.
