It is a lot better for Ducks and Husky fans who purchase tickets for the CCG and you don’t make it. There are plenty of bars in Vegas for you to still go to.
Even if my team isn't in it, it could still be worth attending to see the PAC-12 title game and you get a weekend in Vegas out of it.

The conference should have been utilizing Vegas way more than it has. It needs to be the PAC's version of Atlanta to the SEC.

Yep. From where I live, it's about a 4-5 hour drive to Vegas (8-9 hours to Santa Clara) depending on how much time I spend at Alien Fresh Jerky in Baker. lol

This is actually probably the only smart thing the PAC Commissioner has done. If he were truly smart, he'd move the game to Saturday.

That would make it a whole lot easier for folks to make a weekend of it.

Unfortunately, he hasn't shown himself to be smart enough to figure that out. Soooo...

I'll agree with most of what you write.

As long as USC, Utah, UCLA or Ariz St is in it, it would be a 200-300 mile drive.

Day and Kickoff time will be of importance. A 2pm KO (Pacific Time) would be excellent. You could drive down
on Saturday morning, see the game, even enjoy the casino's for a few hours after the game and then drive to Barstow
or the first Motel, before the Mountains and stay Saturday night. (Vegas would hit you up for a 3-nights stay). Then
drive 2 1/2 hours back home on Sunday.

That would work.

This seems like a great idea.
The question is, why was it ever played anywhere else?

Because Larry Scott is an idiot .. that and he probably got some under the table kickback from either the Niners or Santa Clara. I'll be so fvcking happy to see that game moved out of California.

I doubt it would have been successful @ Sam Boyd Stadium on the edge of the city. Just a terrible, terrible stadium and location.

Yes, the Pac CG is going to be in the Raiders new shiny stadium in town. Should become a football showcase stadium.
Reno followed by Vegas and Hawaii are probably the three biggest go to places for Washington fans. They couldn't have chosen a better city/venue imo.

I was in Vegas in June. That new stadium sits right west of the strip/interstate and is very imposing and impressive...and it isn't even finished yet!

The corporate sponsors wouldn't go for it.

I’m sure the conference wouldn’t have lost a dime moving it to Sam Boyd (I think) let alone has years of non sellouts getting made fun of.

If you have a hard time comprehending what I said because I missed a comma then you have bigger issues than the shitty weed, mascot and being associated with the irrelevant state of Oregon.
