Yeah let's put Owusu in danger of getting this final concussion
If that is our concern then lets teach him to do something other than playing football -
Or practice squad him
that won't help him in the future
It's going to be a tough choice between Owusu and Nathan Palmer as far as who makes the practice squad. One of both might get claimed off of waivers.
Not an expert, but keeping him on the team until he has healed more sounds like it might help him in the future.
Like most fans, we hear good things about these players and we see a glimpse here and there of the skills they posses (not just Owusu and Palmer but players that are in the "bubble") and think that if the Niners waive them, the chances of them getting picked up by another team is very high. But what we fail to take into consideration is that there are 31 other teams in the league and each team has their own young bubble guys. Those other teams' guys will be more familiar with their teams' system. Therefore, unless those other guys really sucked or the other teams were really, really interested with one of the Niners' bubble players but failed to sign him as UDFA, the chance of another team picking them up off of waivers is not as high.
Young veterans who fail to make the roster has a higher chance of getting picked up by another team because there are more quantifiable proof of their skill set and how those translates to the NFL compared to rookie UDFA's.

got the gist and to some extent yes. but the overall talent level for bubble guys, is different on the Rams versus say 49ers. because its harder to make the better NFL teams, than sticking with the not so good teams.
this would be more important for the QB position, i'm sure teams are always looking no matter which bubble?
