Totally agree, but there is a difference between what he should do, what is right and what legally he has the power to do.He should at least have some sort of consistency though. I think Goodell just reaches into a bowl and reads what the note says.
Not surprised. I think it's obvious something needs to be done in the next CBA to address this. Perhaps even an amendment to the current CBA, but don't see that happening...Apparently there are guidelines even to as broad an option as the "integrity of the game" clause...

With Brady on the field, the Patriots will now move forward with raising their Super Bowl XLIX banner. It was a ceremony they wouldn’t have held if Brady wasn’t allowed in the stadium, Kraft said defiantly on Thursday. The Patriots had a backup plan, with Kraft hinting that they had a Brady-themed banner ready to go, but he’s happy the original plansView attachment 26401 will go forward.

My point is that Berman was neutral on this issue--it was not a part of the decision whether or not the process was "fair." And, in early meetings before the decision, Berman pointed out that there was NO EVIDENCE that Brady was involved in deflating footballs and actually asked the NFL what evidence they had.
