And yes, Cussword, I wrote quite a lengthy response on this thread when I first posted this morning. To me the issue resides between majority feeling about the name within the NA community and the Redskin Franchise.

I'm outraged that the Patent office has stepped in. I do not want government deciding what words or images are acceptable. I consider it a gross overstep on the part of government on the behalf of private business and civil liberties.

When you get right down to it, the people who support the Redskins should decide if they think the name is appropriate or not. If they do or they don't, so be it.

If people are offended, don't watch their games. And if they are that butt hurt, don't watch the NFL.

But to be pissed over the Redskins, and still support the Packers and watch pro football seems a bit disingenuous.
