It's actually a pretty interesting story. He didn't do anything wrong.

My friend and a couple other people parked their car on the street at a meter and went to the bar for New Years.

They come out of the bar and there is someone sleeping in their car. The guy broke into the car just to sleep apparently.

They open the door and drag the guy out of the car, he wakes up, starts running, and fires 3 shots back towards them as he is running. The bullet ricocheted off the ground and hit my friend in the leg.

They never caught the guy that did it.
