Lived in So Fl for 7 yrs as well and I'll take the average education and sophistication of the lame Californian over the average Floridian anyday.

So did I. I like the Gulf Coast much better.

The beaches sure are beautiful. Adore Sanibel-Captiva and St Augustine. Never made it to Tampa, but heard nice things...

SD is gorgeous too, but it is facing a lot of the same issues as LA in terms of traffic. Got a ton of immigration issues as well, not that that would put me off it. Just creates it's own ball of problems...

It didn't make any sense to me. Was trying to figure out if he really didn't know you just put them in the area where he had the moth problem or if he wanted to know how the mothballs affected the moths and some kind of chemical analysis...

Seen pix, heading to meet my Fl posse in Nov for 2 weeks. Might add that to the wish list. Have an Auntie who owns property in Ft Meyers so I always take a trip to the West Coast every time I hit FL.

This time the Keys are in the plans, want to do some skin diving. I don't like chilly diving and that's all that's here in Cali.

lived there in the 80's and traffic was no picnic back then. Stop and go traffic at midnight is kind of ridiculous.

lol it's unnecessary. I've always been curious to how traffic jams start

I read somewhere that a group of like 10 college kids all drove the speed limit on the freeway and caused like a 15-mile traffic jam

Good deal. Water temps in the Gulf, right now, are around 85-86 degrees.

And you can get 2 sources of income, from the sale and from interest if you carry a note.

how can you get interest from carrying a note on a house if you sell it?

I didn't know you could carry the note. and my bad if these sound like simple questions I should know, but I've never dealt with buying a house nor know anything about buying a house.

I thought I met some "interesting" people when I was a recruiter, but retail has added a whole new category.

Word. Done some hiring and recruiting myself. Nothing surprises me anymore.

until recently I'd never watched those flip this house type shows but on a rainy day a few months ago I decided to walk on the wild side. It was interesting. You could make some good money or just as easily take a bath.

You can carry a note on anything you own and sell. You can even do it if you are still paying on the asset. That just complicates things a bit and might require approval from the original lender.

It's really simple if you own the asset free and clear.

It's like buying and selling anything, you have to buy low, manage your costs and sell high.

Some of the traps are not evaluating the condition properly or taking on too much of a resto because the asking price is so low. Some times that works out, others, not so much.
