I would have liked to see Bradford play through that injury. Other qbs have, Matt Stafford comes to mind.
He looked the best he has in any 1st quarter yesterday. He made a play out side the pocket for a touchdown early in the game. Every week he does something else to show that's he's a bit more recovered from that injury and a bit more comfortable in the offense.
I hope he's not out long. Watching a game from the sideline might even help him ala Nick Foles in 2013.
It was his non throwing shoulder. I'll dig a little and see if I can find what Matt Stafford played through when he led his team to a comeback victory with one arm. I think Luck did something similar too. Bradford is playing for a pay day and needs to make believers out of his teammates. That's a way to do it. Missed opportunity to take another step. He was looking good before the injury.Play through a grade 2 AC joint sprain and concussion?
It looks like the Rams are done with Foles, but are still on the hook for his 2016 base Salary of 1.75 unless they can find a trade partner. How about he take him back in trade and save them the 1.75 if they give us back our 2nd rounder?![]()
Foles contract paid him a guaranteed $6M this year and another $1.75M guaranteed next year. And if they keep him they have to pay him another $6M early in the league year. So they probably cut him and pay him the $1.75M and he ends up getting $8M for the eight games.
Bradford's contract is a straight $13M for the year. Assuming he misses the next three games and then finishes the year, he will get a Million per game....same as Foles. Seems like financially it may be a wash between these two contracts...unfortunately, so far performance wise its been pretty poor for both although Bradford has not been benched and has a higher QBR by 7 points.
Bradford's the 29th rated QB in the league whoooppie! In a QB friendly system! We gave up a second-rounder for that 'improvement'.
What was Foles worst rating in the system?
Foles 2014 QB rating was 81.4. Bradford's this year so far is 82.4. A difference so small as to be pretty much irrelevant, but it is slightly better. And Foles had a Maclin to work with. And Bradford was never benched in St. Louis, so it does seem fair to say that the Eagles got the better QB out of the deal. Enough to warrant the 2nd Round pick? At this point no, but let's review that at the end of the season. And what is really magical about a 2nd round pick? Most of them turn out to be nothing special anyways.
bradford's record says we didn't get the better of the deal. His record is worse than foles's.
A second round pick isn't really worth much? You're not worth taking seriously are you.
Huh? Both teams are 4-5 this year.
Go look at an old NFL Draft and the players taken in the 2nd round. You may recognize about one quarter of the names as turning into anything other than journeyman players. Bradford looks like a missed bet at this point, but its not like they gave up alot for him. Reasonable risk.
Foles record in the offense is miles better than bradford.
Given the lack of depth in this team they need every pick they can get. Or we could sign a few more journeyman FA to play OL for the next qb. Let him get smoked too.![]()
So you contradict yourself. First you say they play in the same offense...then you say the OL is worse. So by your own admission it makes no sense to make this comparison. Foles was only better in this offense two years ago when they started the same OL for all 16 games.
That you think the offence is different because the quality of the oline is different? You'll want to get a new dictionary.
Here's a little help.
2.assertion of the contrary or opposite; denial.
3.a statement or proposition that contradicts or denies another or itselfand is logically incongruous.
4.direct opposition between things compared; inconsistency.
The offensive line is worse you say? But you were telling us that Barbre and Tobin were better than Herreman and Mathis. That would be a contradiction.
Holy shit that is a dumb statement. And what is really magical about a 2nd round pick? Most of them turn out to be nothing special anyways.
