Edit: Just copied and pasted the link into a browser and I saw the pic.
I have a former Miss Michigan in my office who still models.
It is decent motivation to get up and go to work when I don't feel like it.
Debrahlee Lorenzana is filing a lawsuit against Citibank because they fired her, she says, for the strangest reason: she's too hot.
She's 5'5'', 125 pounds and well, you've seen her photo.
"Where I'm from," she told the Village Voice, "women dress up—like put on makeup and do their nails—to go to the supermarket... I was raised very Latin. We're feminine. A woman in Puerto Rico takes care of herself."
Her bosses told her that "as a result of the shape of her figure, such clothes were purportedly 'too distracting' for her male colleagues and supervisors to bear," she says.
[Her two male] managers gave her a list of clothing items she would not be allowed to wear: turtlenecks, pencil skirts, and fitted suits. And three-inch heels.
Apparently she found another job already within the same industry so I'm not sure what kind of damages she would be entitled to even in the unlikely event her case is successful. I'm wondering what her real intentions are here. Right or wrong, does she really feel that she was wronged in some way and is making some sort of stand for women in the workplace? Or does she see this as her ticket to fame and is she trying to get on the cover of just about every magazine and do the talk show circuit and see where that can take her?
I am very glad my workplace does not have the same policy.
I might have to upload some of her pics tonight.
I did a google search and found some nice ones but none I can just post the image so I will have to upload to photobucket so it doesn't show her name.
Many work places don't want there empolyees dressing like sluts. Where I work you can have no exposed skin, but I work in a medical lab so it is a safety issue. My wife has a co-worker who has been written up for dressing too sexy for work. Her bosses are female. I think you can dress nice without dressing slutty.
I wear Balls Out Jeans at work with no problem. Of course I usually work at home so no one really sees. Except the mail lady. And the widower next door. And the UPS guy.
