Trent Dilfer >>> Brad Johnson >>> Dan Marino >>> Vick!!!!

There are always a few that sneak through, but the vast majority of Super Bowl winning QBs are pretty good. Just as there are a few greats that never won, one of which is not named Vick.

Do you think he is one of the best Qbs in the league and will maintain that speed until he is 37?

i wasn't arguing that it was a good contract, its probably a little long.. but to say he doesn't deserve to get paid because he hasn't won a superbowl is ridiculous.. i'd take brady, manning, rivers, brees and rodgers above him right now.. i could care less that e. manning and big ben have won superbowls (have i covered all the active super bowl winners? seems like i'm forgetting someone).. vick can carry a team by himself, big ben and e. manning turn around and hand the ball off to their workhorses

there are a large number of QB's who haven't won a super bowl that are better than QB's that have.. QB's on run-first teams i.e. the giants and steelers, often dont have to be good.. i'll give a little bit of credit to big ben because he has improved, but the steelers won his first super bowl in spite of him, not because of him.. and i still wouldn't take him over a lot of QB's

That's the list with the exception of Favre*.

oh and go ahead and tell me you'd take big ben over peyton, brees, and rodgers cause he's won 2 and they've only won 1

Odd request, but okay.... You'd take big ben over peyton, brees, and rodgers cause he's won 2 and they've only won 1.

Having a championship doesn't mean shit... Stats make you the greatest. If your team doesn't put a good enough team around you (cough cough, Dolphins with Marino), you will never win a championship. No QB had ever won a championship on his own.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard that. ;)

I know, I was kidding. Clearly you'd be insane to take a guy like Big Ben over Manning, Brady, etc. (those are 2 of the 10 best of all-time). That said, I think Big Ben is underrated and does a lot of great things on the field - keeps plays going, completes 63% of his passes, good in the clutch, and has great awareness of what needs to happen on a given play.

But I hesitate to praise him and ruin my Pittsburgh "hater" reputation. haha.

Jeff only says this b/c he hasn't won a Hookie yet and his reputation points are off the charts!! :)

lol, no, I say this cause if Miami had even remotely a decent running game with Clayton and Duper catching Marino's passes, they most def would have won a championship and then some with Dan as QB.

I am fine with that being your opinion, but there is something to be said for composure and winning. ie leading a drive with 2 minutes left and throwing a perfect pass to the back of the endzone to win the Super Bowl. Some folks can do it others dont seem to have it. I like the idea of paying a proven winner over a proven injury waiting to happen. That is all I am saying.

Longevity can get you stats, that doesn't make you the best. Emmitt Smith is not the best RB all time. Nor is Brett Farve the best QB ever.
