the one I like to recount to people is I played on the grade 8 highschool soccer team in 1986 and we had a game at Eric Hamber and we all took public transit to the game (as a team ... no chaperone on the bus ... can you imagine that today?). After the game everyone was all fucking around waiting for the bus and it arrived and as we were all piling in a kid on the team still outside of the bus says " hey guys watch this " and he ran half way down the block and grabbed the ass of a woman who was walking by and it caused her to fall ...and then he ran back to get on the bus and the bus took off. Nothing came of it ... nothing in the news ... nothing

Today ... thats a reportable sexual assault .. everytime i hear a story like that in the news today I think how lucky that kid was to have lived in that era ... and whether he's in jail today :noidea:

Around the corner from my house. We went to dinner just before 7 and turned right on David, came back around 8:30 and there were cops galore. We must’ve missed the shooting by minutes.

Yesterday in Oak Bay (pretty ritzy area of Victoria). 52 year old municipal worker and father of two young kids killed when a vehicle jumped the curb and struck him as he was on the sidewalk.

66 year old woman driving erratically is odd unless it was a medical episode. That's one hell of a wreck for a windy residential road.

My Google alert for "warm moist beaver" just went off.

Is that the Leslie Nielsen alert? Speaking of Leslie, I don't think this has been posted previously, but it's so good it's worth a repost...

I love the "good ones!" at the end.

Vancouver Island real estate update - The market remains pretty hot here on the island as my wife and I received confirmation last night regarding the selling of my father-in-law's place. We received several offers and his house sold for a little over list price.

I haven't read the conversation, but that highest board looks to be around 30 meters (100 feet approx.) above the water.
looks less than that gauging from the height of the jumpers ... 40 to 50 feet maybe?

Yeah, 100 feet seems pretty high. We had a 10 foot high board at our local outdoor pool and as a kid when I climbed the ladder and looked down it seemed to be a lot higher lol
