We were supposed to see the OAP Rolling Stones last May. No refunds forthcoming so far as they still seem to think they will be putting on a show.

Not sure how I'm going to feel if they do. BC Place is open more or less but 50K people is likely more than I want to be among.

I was in quality Foods the other day and folks were unmasked. It was kind of offputting.

Especially since you have no way of knowing what their vax status is.

And you still read where double dosed folks are still getting sick.

Double-dosed people getting sick are mostly getting a sore throat or a mild fever at most. They're almost entirely spared any of the truly serious effects of the virus.

And those getting sick are so very few and far between.

They removed the max 2 ppl per elevator rule in my building, which is absolutely thrilling to me because the geniuses who designed it put two cars for a 30 storey building and i've often waited 10+ minutes for an empty car to take me the three floors up to my unit.

Of course they could've just opened the god damn stair doors so I could just run up to my floor but that would make too much sense.

Think i might continue to wear my mask in indoor gathering places (malls and stores) after i get my shot #2 next week

/when we were in kelowna wife and i went to a small beachwear store and everyone in there (10 people maybe) was unmasked including employees (probably the owners). Horrible service and seemed like they wanted us out of there lol

every other place/store we stopped in at, the employees were masked. One place an employee went over the top thanking us for still wearing a mask … after serving an unmasked patron quite rudely it appeared lmao

There are so many procedures and checklists involved with crane dismantling that, unfortunately, it's almost certain one of the deceased skipped a step or did something erroneously and this was the result.

Really shitty reason for anyone to die. Really fortunate that no bystanders were hurt.

Ive been following the posts on the kelowna reddit board and it sounds like 3 of the dead from that small crane company were a father (owner) and his 2 sons. The company Instagram account posted video of the crane deconstruction minutes before the tragedy happened. The story you link confirms the person still missing in the rubble and presumed dead is an innocent bystander who was working in the office the crane crashed into.

the kelowna reddit mods had to temporarily modify their board rules and remove disgusting speculative posts because “supposed experts” were posting saying the workers actions were to blame … all the while family members were in that very thread/board searching for any answers they weren’t getting from police
