Abdullah was not able to catch up with the woman to ask her if she was OK and share his video with her.

"She kept running all the way down," he said.

It's an endless cycle of bear sightings these days.
There's been a sign at the park around the corner from my office pretty much since I got here and still haven't seen any. Starting to annoy me - I wanna see a damn bear already!

I was sitting on my back patio 2 weeks ago watching TV through the window during Happy Hour.

To my left there was suddenly a flurry of activity, a plum tree was wagging bag and forth like a dog's tail.

And there was the biggest black bear I've ever seen doing the wagging. Standing on his hind legs he was easily a foot taller than I am.

And no more than 15 feet from me....

I stood up, located my cats, then picked up the chair I was sitting in and banged it on the concrete.

He dropped to all fours, gave me a glance and shuffled off down the hill to my creek, which he proceeded to follow on his way to the apple trees of others.

When I was sure he was gone, I walked over to the tree and gave it a shake. Didn't even budge.

But when he was shaking it it looked like one of those air things you see at car dealers. flapping about.

I've had 5 or 6 close encounters with them in this house. Once chased one away with a weed plucker so I could rescue my cat tangled up in his rope....

It wasn't a really big bugger though.

I've pretty much stayed indoors for two days, other than walking my dog for about 45 minutes each day. The smog from the fires is fairly brutal up here now, too.

Looks like Friday, the winds switch directions. Hopefull that helps.
