I would say leave it until we get to 10k. needs to redeem himself with the hundred number posts before it goes to the file cabinet.

10k wouldn't be the real 10k, though (with all the hidden posts). I can see all posts still as a mod and it's at #8976. What do you show?

Remember, we can still post in this thread even in the archive folder. Then will continue to have accurate mile markers.

Folders can be marked as members only, thus you must be a logged in member to view them. Google bots wouldn't have access to them. The balancing act is to not make too much content hidden or the search engines would have less content to hit on, thus lowering site revenue.

Isn't there a way to have all threads searchable by text, but not have pictures found (make them links that you have to be logged in to view)?

The google bots are running a script that scan pictures on the page for a certain % of the picture made up of skin tone. If the picture is missing and only a link remains the bots will never find it.

Not sure if vBulletin allows that.

I suggested that (change the IMG tags to links) but the basic response I got was "why bother, just remove them"

If I had access to the SQL end of the site, I could do it in a heartbeat.

UPDATE POSTINGS SET POST_BODY = REPLACE(POST_BODY, 'IMG]', 'URL]')

Just change the names to the actual DB element names.
