I tried twice to go to the dentist for a root canal and every time they put the dam on me, I had a panic attack and had to retreat, so to speak. This was weird because I'd never had any problems with anxiety from dental work in the past. Then they tried to offer me sedation at $350; I said fuck that, got the doc to prescribe me some valium, took 30mg and had not problem whatsoever with the procedure.

They gave me that stuff when I had Laser Eye surgery. I was so nervous at first, but I gave less than zero fucks when it was time to go into the room. They didn't tell me that one of the steps would cause the eye that was being prepped to lose sight momentarily. I just asked "Hey, was that eye supposed to go black?"

"Oh... yeah. It will come back. Sorry, we forgot to warn you".

"Cool, just making sure".

If I could get lesser doses for trips to the inlaws, my life would be perfect.

I had a deer run into my car before. I stopped just as three of them darted from the left across the road in front of me, and then 3 seconds later I hear a thud on my left rear quarter-panel. Luckily, no damage.
