Their is no way that carrot's help you're vision THAT much.

On the radio the other day they explained the origin of the "Carrots help you see in the dark" myth. Apparently during WW2, the Nazis were having unlimited success night-bombing England, until all of a sudden the English were shooting them out of the sky without issue. The solution was, of course, radar, but to keep this new technology a secret, the British explained their new-found success on carrots.
Haven't verified the story, but pretty awesome if true.
