How to sneak into a celebrity party :)

Pretty smooth. Definitely better than my attempt to sneak into the 2001 Cannes festival. Apparently flashing my Kingston, ON bus pass and mumbling "media pass" wasn't that convincing.

On my way to work I noticed the car in front of me had a bunch of Queensryche stickers on it. There were about 6 different ones and they were in the same pattern on each side of the car's license plate as if a reflection of each other. Then I noticed that the license plate was "Rycher".

I think this will be both the funniest and saddest thing I see today. This week?

Remember kids, you'll only get drunk on 100% of the shots that you take...

"three guys missed it, and that should concern the NHL"

We were so innocent and trusting back in those days.

I wrote this last night, but deleted my post/thread. It was very cathartic at the time, though:

The league has a serious problem on its hands and it's essentially the quality of officiating. I can't remember a time when it has been this bad in my 40+ years of watching NHL hockey (yes I'm dating myself, but I don't give a shit). I was looking forward to watching NHL hockey tonight, but after watching the Rags essentially rodeo the Bruins in game 1 with not a single penalty called against them, I was pretty steamed. The fact that the Bruins won was remarkable considering how bad (dare I say slanted?) the officiating was tonight in the Rangers favo(u)r.

Now I'm watching game two between the Kings and Sharks and if it's not missed calls, it's premature whistles calling off goals. I'll watch the 3rd period just because I have a feeling all hell might break loose due to the Kings being very frustrated. At least I got a nice walk in tonight to cool down during the 2nd period.

This is why you avoid inlaws at all costs:

Remodeler finds comic book worth over $100K in wall at Elbow Lake house | StarTribune.com

When his wife’s aunt grabbed the comic book amid all the excitement of the discovery, he grabbed it back and tore the back cover. Experts downgraded the comic book’s condition to a 1.5 on a 10-point scale. To put that in comic-book context, a 9.0-grade Action 1 fetched more than $2 million recently.

“That was a $75,000 tear,” said Stephen Fishler, co-owner of ComicConnect, a New York City online auction house that is selling Gonzalez’s treasure. He says the comic book would have graded out at 3.0 without the rip.
