So they don't get buried
I read a really good book years ago called "Shadow Divers" about a WW2 U-boat discovered off the coast of New Jersey. The book covered years from discovery to identifying the wreck and even researching the history and personnel of the ship. Its not normally my type of book, I bought it for my father for Christmas and perused it and read it all. Really good.
You know what they say about guys with one big foot...
Most cats aren't that high of calibre, Eddie...
A guy named Lou Gehrig got Lou Gehrig's disease.
Lot's of sub wrecks off the coast. I guess it was "high risk high reward" in the shipping lanes approaching NY harbor.
We fish on a few of them
There was something odd about this wreck that even when they thought they knew what it was people doubted them. I thought it was closer than they thought most U-boats got. I cannot remember.
Good fishing there? Somewhere near me in the bay there are a couple sunken concrete ships. Beached may be a better term because a good bit of them was out of the water. We used to fish there when I was a kid and usually had some luck.
