Very good Episode (and a very very good Taking Dead after). Tyrese needs to get his shit straight. Cmon Man. He gives up so easily and is taking on the Andrea role of annoyance for me, his character deserves more (and after reading the comics, so did Andrea but that is another discussion). Daryl was great this episode he really exuded his leadership and alpha dog status on Bob. The one on one conversations were fantastic between Carol and the girl, Rick and Carol.

I hope they dont run this flu story line too long. I would like it wrapped up next week and get some more of this weeks style episodes. I want them OUT of the prison on the road (in the towns) more. I want to meet more smaller groups and get more interaction with other people. I loved the hippies and actually felt sorry for Ana (but wasnt her leg a little too clean cut for being ripped apart, sometimes they dont spend enough time on props for me, if you look at the conversation Daryl and Michonne had Michonne closed her door on the van and there was no door lol). This is a multi watch episode as there are some things I missed (like the hell sign).

Carol. Wow I did NOT expect that to happen. I honestly expected her to go back with Rick and Rick put her on trial with the council or something not banish her outright. That was incredible what he did. Carol was instantly devastated but then you could see her inner strength take over. I wonder where they will take her story now and how they will bring her back in. Will she hook up with the governor? a new groups (someone else from the books?) She has grown SO cold. Would she kill Judith or Carl if they had the fever? Rick? Maggie? Glenn? killing a couple outside the group is one thing but what if it came down to one of the original group? I cant get over that he banished her. Just LEFT her wow. Um thanks for the car hippies lol.

Rick and Daryl are going to have an INTERESTING conversation... and then Rick and Tyrese may throw down again for not bringing her to him. The group dynamic has changed dramatically.

Just kill off Tyrese somehow. Also glad he let Carol go and leave the group, she was getting on my nerves the last few episodes, even dating back to last season.

Im still trying to figure out how the whole Governor AND Negan angle will work

The Governors return cant be like the comics because he has no people/group left ... apparently ????

Do the writers go right into a Negan storyline ?

I originally thought the would have S5 concentrate on the journey to DC and the establishment of Alexandria and Hilltop. However, it dawned on me during last night's ep that that won't work. The "Three Questions" is essentially what Aaron and his "partner" did to them, so they can't really redo that strategy. Also, another full season of camp-site politics won't go over well.

Therefore, I think they need to get to Alexandria/Hilltop/Kingdom (or the TV equivalents) by early S5 if not the end of S4. I think a max of 3 or 4 eps establishing these settlements and their key-players before introducing the Saviors.

It must be tough to prepare the future story arc. They signed for season 5 but nothing for 2 more after that (rumour is 7 seasons) Negan story alone could be 2 seasons so they could do season 6 and 7 on that and season 5 could be the hunters.... oh I wish they bring in the hunters. Negan is bat shit crazy and would be great way to end it all (I know they are still writing that story so I dont know how it unfolds) I think they can still have the governor re appear similar to the comics at least I hope they do, for all we know there may still be people back at woodbury that didnt go with him. or he may have found some more groups since they are changing so much of the comic stories (I prefer the comics but they just cant follow that unless they switch to HBO :D)

I want part of this season (second half) back on the road on a small group being pursued by hunters. I wonder how the audience would take Alexandria/Hilltop/Kingdom if they even stayed remotely close to the comics. its pretty out there.

this is where my mind was going ... the governor takes over a group only to discover its a Negan controlled outpost and the governor gets offed by Negan ... maybe in an outside the prison confrontation scene ... it could all be tidy and possibly done in 1 episode :noidea:

this sets it up where ... everyone thought the governor was bad ... well this Negan is even more badass

I just dont know how they can do a Alexandria/Hilltop/Kingdom angle for the sole fact that ... tv wise ... thats alot of sets to have in one season (expensive) ... and alot of characters to flush out :noidea:

yeah I agree with that. Im not sure negan will be the same on TV with no f bombs. I LIKE the governor on TV but he was nothing close to what the governor was in the comics. I know I shouldnt compare them but if they adjust his style/personality that much to make him TV likeable, I cant imagine what they do with Negan

after getting up to date with the comic ... you still want Glenn to go out with the flu ?

The casting of David Morrisey was perfect for the tv show but after reading/seeing the comic wouldnt Danny Treijo have been an INCREDIBLE Governor (he's done a shitload of zombie stuff though so probably overkill)

would have been perfect but I dont think Danny can take on the nice guy role like Morrisey did. thats what I like about Morrisey on how he can balance the crazy and the leader.

GAHHH!! What happened to the spoiler rule?

Anything from the show is fair game, so people that are behind on episodes run the risk.

But I thought we were putting anything from the comics that might be a spoiler in WHITE font so those that have not read them can skip over those posts. Am I wrong on that?

I've found myself skipping over more posts in this thread than reading them for this very reason. I understand that it's not exactly the same as the comics but I'd prefer to not know anything that could happen. I don't want to see pictures of upcoming episodes and new characters etc. It kinda waters down the experience of watching the show.

I don't mind the teasers for upcoming shows - Matty posts these and I usually like them b/c they're put out by the show itself, so they never reveal too much.

I just think the people that know things from the comics should post them in white so us johnny-come-latelys to the TV show can skip over these parts of the posts still be surprised by major developments like new characters and places the group may travel.

sorry guys. I didnt realize we were actually giving away any spoilers from the comics. I thought we were vague enough that only the comic readers could get the connection. but Ill do white from now on.

I've never heard of Negan and didn't know the group might end up in DC.

Like I said, not a huge deal b/c who knows if the TV show will follow that path, but those are some substantial giveaways, even though I can tell some of you are being vague on porpoise.

Am I right, Matty? Was comic talk previously done in white font? Or am I inventing that or thinking of some other thread?

By the way, who is left from the original group from the quarry now?

I got Rick, Carl, Daryl, and Glenn. Is that really it? Crazy.

No worries, Matty. And it wasn't just you and we've added some new people to the thread, so I just thought I'd put in a reminder so nobody reveals Rick dies in next week's episode.

Oh no!
