oh fuck what a nightmare ... if this new brood likes to sing showtunes Im done with the show

It would be a stretch but I cannot think of anything scarier. Imagine the group resting in a cabin in the woods taking stock of themselves after another narrow escape. Rick praises Carl for doing something he is pretending to think of as brave then quietly at first they hear:

"One singular sensation, every little step she takes"

Rick runs to the window, looks out and sees nothing. Then a bit louder from the other direction:

"One thrilling combination, every move that she makes".....

brrr, terrifying.

I think this episode showed that places no value on her former values. She picked up the bible, glanced at it and tossed it aside onto a pile of other books. When Gabriel mentioned post-cannibalcide that this was a house of God, she replied with it's just four walls and a roof. I think Maggies experiences have changed her, and her attitude toward God for sure and possibly family are changed as well.

Still pretty cold though. You would think she would at least be curious, especially since Darryl would have given her a reason to believe that her sister was alive.

Very nice catches.

That explains her loss of "God", but the group is now all family and if one of them is hurt or separated, they would search for each other. Why is she so willing to abandon the area without so much as searching a bit for clues as to the location of her sister?

I can understand a ZA destroying your faith. But your connection to family? I would think it would be the exact opposite.

Really liked this episode.

Like the new characters, especially Noah, but kinda liked the doctor too. I hope the doctor will live and join the main group at some point. They need a new doctor. Dawn has potential to be a good villain but I'm not sold on her either way yet.

Pretty sure it's has be Noah that returned with Daryl.

Next week's sneak peak featured Abraham but I hope the entire episode doesn't revolve around that group. At this point they interest me the least.

Beth is runner-up to Carol as most improved character in my opinion. Loved how she used the zombie to her advantage on that creepy guy!

Also didn't Noah say something about coming down to GA from VA to find his uncle? I wonder if his uncle could be Morgan? You would think that he would have mentioned his cousin as well, since he was still alive as of the last word he got, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Really liked last night's episode as well. It's interesting how the "bad" guys aren't really that bad, just kind of a different mindset (aside from the creepy rapist). Love seeing these different pockets of survival and how people are reacting, I could watch an entire series of just various groups and how they're doing.

I agree about Dawn, a lot of potential with that character. Not sure if she's somewhat justified in the way she handles things or if she's a complete control freak psycho.

I really dont see her as being a good villain at this point ... maybe its the badge :noidea: ... maybe its the fact shes not in the comics so i dont already know what she could be capable of doing lol We havent seen how bad the other cops are ... Gorman seemed to be the only one who was all about getting rapey with it

Dawn might be abit of a loose cannon but at the same time seems practical ... theres a method to her meager madness ... in the post apocalyptic world Dawn and her group seem to be holding on to an old third world social hierarchy structure where everyone has a place on the ladder. And she has really underestimated Beths strength because she is all about judging a book by its cover ... Beth looks weak and pretty so maybe they can use her as a plaything for the male cops ... mistake! The strong in the zombie world dont always appear that way

You would think they would realize Beth survived that long out there for a reason. Theyve obviously been holed up too long in the hospital to know what it takes to survive on the outside

This was a good episode, not a great walking dead episode but it was well done. Not sure I can explain my thoughts on it but that's the best I can do.

agreed on the bold ... theyre hanging on to the notion that they will be saved by someone or something and they need to keep the social order ... and that means some people are going to be taken advantage of

... now if the guinea pig Beth was given to eat was human meat ... well ... :bolt:

I thought it was OK. It was interesting at times but slow.

I was happy to see Dawn played by Christine Woods. She was fantastic on a Steve Merchant HBO show no one watched a few years ago.

I don't know, Dawn said a couple of times that "compromises" were needed. She was talking about offering up the female wards to the guards, sexually, to keep them happy. That's why Joan was willing to risk the field of walkers to get out, and would rather have turned than be saved by the doctor. I think these guys are more on the completely unhinged and insane side than inherently evil, but they all need to go.

Good on Beth for using an about to turn Joan on Gorman and then leaving a nice little walker combo waiting for Dawn in her office. It goes to show that even the one deemed the weakest in Rick's group is pretty still pretty strong.

I'm hoping that Darryl and Carol watched them and then sent Carol in. But I have a feeling that Noah is the one with Darryl in the woods and the group is going to have to head to Atlanta to bust Beth and Carol out. I also wonder if the the uncle in Georgia that Noah mentioned is Morgan. Hope I'm wrong about the first part.

I didn't even think of the Noah/Morgan potential connection. I think that is a bit of a stretch, but it is a TV show, so certainly in the realm of possibility.

The link I DID notice was that he mentioned he was from Virginia, and that his "home" had "walls".

Anyone who knows the comics know what I am putting down, and are likely picking it up...

Yeah at first I thought she was just a bitchy boss, who sometimes had to make tough calls for the greater good and did so with very little emotion. Seems like that's all she probably intended to be from the beginning and probably what was needed. Hard to justify slapping Beth for no (good) reason a few times but that doesn't exactly put her in the same category as guys like the Governor or Gareth. At that point she was probably in the same category that Shane was in prior to his final episode when he completely snapped.

But when we found out she was pimping the nurses out to her officers and saying it was for "the greater good", it became quite apparent that something is not right with this chick. A male character doing that would be bad enough but I think the fact that a female one is doing it makes it even more disturbing. That was probably never her original intent but she gave in to guys like Gorman, as well as others apparently. While I think it's clear she's not exactly a decent human being (anymore?), she still doesn't strike me as pure evil at this point, at least not to the extent of The Governor or Gareth. The difference is the Governor was a manipulator and seemed like a genuinely good guy on the surface to most of his people. While Dawn's a **** and doesn't seem to care if everyone knows it. She may have a few skeletons of her own in her closet that are yet to be revealed. Hard to say for sure, but the fact that fact that Beth just got a mild scolding for trying to escape, helping Noah escape, and for what happened to Gorman tells me that Dawn isn't too much more than a bitchy boss and crooked cop at this point.

Also I'm pretty sure she has a brain tumour or something, the way they made it clear how desperately she wanted to save the oncologist. Sure any doctor would be invaluable to any group but I think they went out of their way a bit to make that part very obvious, and he wasn't just any type of doctor.

Again, while possible, I think the existing doctors explanation makes the most sense. She just wanted an extra doctor so that she would have all the leverage in the group dynamic.
