Just heard about this today. Pretty sad when you think about the lifespan of these guys.

/RIP

yeah no kidding. I knew Davey Boy Smith fairly decent and that was a pretty tough passing especially at his age. The tear these people put themselves through is incredible. what they put in themselves is tragic but we only get maybe 10% of the story of each one.

RIP to all those guys and girls

I know a guy who is in the local/west coast "scene" who is trying to make a go of it ... very passionate about it, very dedicated, very charismatic, almost seems addicted to it ... watched him "compete" and he puts on a great show

His fulltime job is in the Engineering dept for the City of Vancouver (ok ok ... yes he is Italian). He called in sick for 3 consecutive days so he could go do a couple shows in Oregon and California ... problem ... his supervisor saw him on youtube at one of the shows ... 3 week suspension from work ... not the first time he did it

just seems to me that those that wrestle have issues to begin with and dont always make the right life choices not to mention being perennial candidates for darwin awards

A lot of self medicating for injuries, guys have to fight through them for fear of being replaced by another guy. Combine that with constant travel, living out of a suitcase, the violent nature of the whole thing and you have a recipe for depression/disaster.

It's amazing to me that Bret will have anything to do with the WWE anymore. Ever since Vince screwed him over and the incident with Owen, you'd think that he would have stayed away from the name forever. Money talks?

WWE needs new blood. Cena has been on top for years & bringing back Dwayne Johnson is kind of sad. I don't blame Johnson one bit. The money has to be too good to pass up. They need to turn Ryback into a bad guy & put him in the ring agaiinst Cena & Seamus.

Matty, I'm sure you watched Stampede Wrestling like I did, juat an awful terrible thing that Chris Benoit did to his family (and himself), he was a 185 lbs wrestler during his days with Stampede Wrestling and "bulked" up to 225 lbs with WCW/WWE. Steroids and painkillers along with CTE is a deadly combination.

I had a great site bookmarked (must have deleted it) that showed the age's of the guy's and girls when they died. Very very sad, I'm going to see if I can find it again because it's a real eye opener.

Like someone mentioned what they put their bodies through is nothing short of insane. I bet if HBK ever makes it to 60 years old he will need a scooter to get around with the way he abused his body. Fake? sure it is but you do not jump off of a fucking ladder 20 feet high onto the ground and not rattle your balls.

Not yet. I've heard of it though. I'll need to pick it up.

DB&I - Ryback is one that I think will get a major push after Wrestlemania. Cena's been "the guy" for too long and he doesn't have the gimmick to really be appreciated. I'd like to see them go back to some of the hardcore matches from the Attitude era. They don't need to bring back the Dudley's, Hardyz, etc. They just need to promote that type of excitement again.

Ryback, Ziggler, Punk, Sheamus and Orton all have top-level ability. They just don't have as much creative backing as they used to.

Odd question, why did you have it bookmarked, bud?

yeah. that man had stuff going through his body and I believe had depression as well. that was 225lbs of TNT packaged with nitro-glycerin. I wasnt shocked at what he did. the act yes the fact HE did it no. just tragic and sad

you will get a very very interesting view of that fateful night when you watch it.

lots of these guys are powerhouses on roids, but I dont think there was anyone tougher than Bret Hart in real life. After he got screwed you could tell how many people were physically afraid of him that night. fucking excellent you have to see it

So I guess WM29 was tonight. Didn't watch. I've only heard of about half of the guys these days and most of those guys are over the hill.

This guy takes his wrestling just a bit too seriously.

I seem to be in the minority in saying it was a 4 star PPV
