Something about episode 4...

Season 1 - Epic 6 minute gun battle done in 1 take.

Season 2 - Epic 10 minute gun battle done in 477 takes.

I'm still enjoying the season (bucking the trend of ragging on the show) but it's not as gripping as the first season. Granted, that's a hard season to live up to.

That's how I feel. Perhaps the repercussions of the gun fight will make the story more focused and driven in the 2nd half of the season.

I figured Dixon was going to play a big part at some point. Though he often came across as lazy and disinterested, a number of times he seemed to be paying attention from the background. I wasn't sure if I thought he was going to be good or bad, but I thought he'd have a bigger role. Oops, wrong!

The sheer body count of the fight surprised me. At least the protesters got their opinions about the monorail project heard! Also it was nice to see the emotions of shock and sadness on the three detectives after the gunfight. So often its business as usual 20 seconds later.

I may have totally missed it but after the gunfight i saw the shock/sadness from only 2 of the detectives ... woodrough looked to have that soldiers tunnel vision :noidea:

I figured that was Taylor Kitsch's acting!

No, you're right. I was mainly thinking of Velcoro and Bezzerides. Woodrough's combat history sure came in handy there.

Honestly, I didn't really get hooked into the first season until the ghetto chase scene. Maybe this will be the same with that gun battle? Who knows?

Does anyone know if McAdams is going to take her clothes off, or what?

If any of the leads gets naked, sadly my money is on Farrell.

I think this past episode was the best of the season. It seems like the actual investigation is starting to come together. I felt more invested in this one than any other, the characters all seem more likable now than they did (which is probably the point).

Although, it's still silly and really requires you to suspend belief. There's still too many "convenient" moments, where they are able to connect dots with absolutely no logic or reasoning as to how they got there.

I agree with both of your posts. I am more excited about the show now than I have been since before the season premiere.

It bugs me no end that one of the main characters was dead from the start. We were introduced to Cassidy sitting in the back seat already dead. They could have built a more solid base if the first episode showed him alive doing whatever it is that they keep writing into the show. First it was some real estate, then some hanky panky, then Frank hints that he's lost $5M because of Cassidy and now we have a hazardous waste company that's out of business that might have been run by some bad ass Mexicans and Frank is now collecting on Illegals residences.

We're three episodes from the end......do you think you might start pulling some the straggling lines into the middle and not try to do a 4th of July finale in the last episode.

Final question? Is Colin Ferrell the kid's father or the rapist's? Or is it Franks?

well that would be something ... I think the rapist is the father ... police found their man with DNA ... Frank probably got Velcoro to kill some other dude that he wanted dead at the time PLUS he got his hooks into him because he could hold the killing against him and have him do more work for him

something tells me Velcoro wont be a happy camper next episode when he gets to talk with Frank :noidea:

We all have to thank Rick Springfield for providing some clarity lol

Correct me if I am wrong, its been a confusing 6 episodes, but in episode 1 wasnt Ani serving papers or something on a farm and the woman there asked her to look into her missing sister? And the missing sister is the one who sent the photos of the party that the sister gives to Ani that ties both cases together? That's the way I see it.

I heard that the female audience of over 50 million watches every week because Colin Ferrell is rumored to be in a full frontal nudity shot in one episode. I heard that even horses are jealous.

I thought they pulled up to a farm like house but I can not remember for sure. Perhaps I am remembering one of the other one or two aerial shots of driving.
